Guild Wars 2

so i have a laptop with an 8800gts in it, 4gig ram,dual core 1.83ghz(overclocked to 3ghz i believe is what my friend said. )
he gave me the laptop cause the one i had couldnt run anything .

now i get 20-30 fps on LOW graphics, is there any suggestions to possibly boosting this to where i can do lets say cursed shore karma farming without laggin out horribly? once the aoe starts my screen locks up. .
any help is appreciated, ( i cant afford to buy a new computer, so thats out of the question. )

also – drivers are up-to-date. atleast the graphics card one is

Lol 8800 GTS, no. And I seriously doubt your laptop is OC’ed to 3.0 from 1.83 without buring a hole. You wont be getting any better FPS without a new computer.

lol.. well that was almost bad.. i tried evga precision – and my computer screen ( i beleive the term is artifacted ) where it just cracks up with different colors. had to safe mode, and delete the settings lmao .. guess ill just dredge it till i can put some money aside for something fancy

Yeah no way it’s overclocked to 3Ghz, just no. Also, no chance your gpu is a fully fledged 8800GTS. It’s more like an 8800m which is roughly a desktop 8600GT.

Yea im afraid while your laptop may be able to play old games. Its no match for GW2.

The fact that you have that old of a system and getting 20-30 fps surprises me. I had that card 7 years ago and it was a beast.

Most people on these tech forums are running this game at 10 fps on the lowest possible settings while you’re pulling those frames on an extremely old card.

Your frames seem appropriate. I would be happy.
