"A Serious Error Has Occurred"
I’m having this exact problem. I tried every single solution I can think of or have read online such as run as administrator, change file names, delete folder and start again, move folders, I even changed DNS servers to see if it will work. I noticed in the error log it says a few files couldn’t be downloaded from the server.

Good luck.
I’m having the same problem aswell. I’ve added the photo of the details. It says Module: LavasoftTcpService.dll which is from my antivirus. Though I’ve turned it off, i still get this error.

Having the same issue. Tried everything I can think of. Really need help on this.
You will need to remove the LavaSoft program to enable GW2 to download.
Good luck.
I did delete the program, but i still keep getting the same error. I found that .dll file, but i can’t delete it, it says it’s being used by services.exe. can’t find any of those in the task manager, i’m lost…
You will need to use a Malware/Adware removal program, or some such, possibly. You can Google how to remove such .dll files.
If you continue to have issue, you can contact the Tech CS Team for assistance via the ‘Support’ link above/below.
Good luck.
Have you tried running, Anti-Malware Bytes
https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
If you google the file causing the problem/error, there are a lot of issues around that software.
Okay, it seems the malwarebytes did help on that problem, but now I’m getting a Not Responding error, when i try to run the client. I’m begginning to think I need to reinstall windows, but it’s a pain in the butt to do that on my pc.
I honestly didn’t expect much help, haha. Thank you, all. Here are the details attached below, they don’t mean much to me, but I hope they may shed some light on my issue.

Mezaa is likely the issue.
Good luck.
Hm, I just scanned my computer this morning with malwarebytes, actually. I do not recall it detecting Mezaa and the error is still occurring. I will check my installed programs and will re-scan to be sure.
However, looking through my malwarebytes history, I see a ton of Mezaa related files that all are from last October. They’re all quarantined, so I’m not certain how they’d still be interfering. I’ll delete them, to be safe, and try GW2 again.
Well, deleting the files didn’t do the trick. It did take longer for the error to pop-up, though. The error looks the same, but I’ve attached a screenshot of it to be safe.
As stated previously, you can contact the Tech CS Team for assistance.
Best of luck!
Search your computer for the MZA.dll file. That is the file causing the problem. Press start, enter the name in the search bar.
Hm, well, the attached image is what turned up. They’re both in the system files, so I’m not sure if it’s safe to just delete them. I’m sorry for seeming so clueless, I don’t deal with this stuff on a frequent enough basis.
Okay, I can’t delete the system32 one because they are running, apparently, in “dashost.exe”. I looked up how to disable that and followed the instructions such as “windows key + R, search dashost.exe, and then click on it and change the service startup to Manual”. However, according to my computer, dashost.exe is not running.
The syswow64 file is currently running in Nvidia Geforce Backend which I think disabling may be a bad idea, not sure what to do.

I know those exist, they were linked before and I tried that. However, I posted on the malwarebytes forum and received the help I needed to remove the malware from the system files safely. Thank you for your help, everyone! Finally, I will see you all in the game!
