Hello spectators and viewers of this forum post,
I am writing this this forum post because I have an extremely unnecessary issue regarding a punishment towards me I did not deserve. First off, let me give a background check of my issue. Throughout all systems and games I have played, ( League of Legends, Xbox 360, Play Station, Minecraft, and Clash of Clans) I have created the username POOPERSCOOPS. It has been an inside joke since I was a child, and personally means a lot to me. The time eventually came where I wanted to create a GW2 character with that name. I did not think I would obtain it, but destiny favored me as the name had not yet been taken. About 2 days after making the perfect character name, I had a small debate with the classic “5-year old” playing this game. As usual, they think they know everything, and if you don’t agree with them, you are apparently gay, a kitten, and who knows what else. I made a joking comment in which i said “reported ;D”. I said this because he said he didn’t like me. He then went off and said he was going to report me for every reason he possibly could, along of which being my name. Ok, no biggy, a little kid has anger problems, until the next day came. I HAD TO CHANGE MY NAME! I want to take this time to present my extremely strong debate at how poop, IS NOT A BAD WORD. At the least, pooperscoops. In the generation that we live in, children learn profanity and fluently speak it at a surprisingly young age, therefore, I know and strongly believe that the word “poop”, wasn’t actually offending anybody. I honestly don’t know any better way to say that word compared to crap and S***. On top of that, I would like to believe that the vast majority of the community has even matured past the point of saying that word, and find it childish to say. Never the less, pooperscoops is humorous and quite silly.
Ultimately, I love this game, and I love the community. BUT, the fact that 1 or maybe 2-3 (depending on if he got his friends to report me) people reported my name to “get at me” is unacceptable. The even more surprising, and in my opinion, unacceptable factor about this, is that ARENA.NET actually believed that these players found offense to the word poop. That or an automated report filter thing just took their report requests and deemed it worthy. The username pooperscoops means a lot to me, and with all due respect, I expect this name to be returned to me, NOT because I am complaining about this issue, but because I deserve it and its safe to assume that the word “poop” isn’t offensive to anyone.

I will point you in the direction of Bodily function. If you really really feel your were incorrectly misnammed, you can put in a ticket. Posting on the forums will not assist you at all.

On a side note, I’m pretty sure I have seen one or two other people post here with the same problem related to the same word. As I recall they didn’t have much luck getting the name back.

Your argument is invalid. Naming policy is very clear, CS agents are currently overwhelmed with legitimate issues, I hope you will not waste their time arguing that you should be able to name your character after feces.

Don’t bother submitting a ticket. That is basically a waste of Customer Support’s time. Everyone here posted links that confirm you’ll never get your name back.
