Guild Wars 2

I’ve had this game for what feels like a month already……out of the 30 times or more I’ve tried to play this game its only worked 2-3 times. When i did get to play it was around 3-5 hours. So I know my computer can run this game, it plays others with no problem. The First crash happened while I was creating my 1st character, I had to manually reset and couldn’t play for the rest of the day. Days later I tried a few times to play and it finally did for a while, then couldn’t play again for some time. Also out of all those times the game crashed the only time I got to send a report was twice…..every other time I had to manually reset or a held shut off.

I got a Brand New Computer just for this game. I’m not computer illiterate an know some things, I’m pretty sure that everything has been updated properly on my system. So please don’t ask me to reinstall anything unless your absolutely sure. I’ve read other posts on here that seemed very similar to my own and have tried the things you recommended…..NOTHING WORKED! This is very frustrating. Guild Wars 1 works fine I actually installed that 1st just so I could see how everything looked maxed out and it looked VERY NICE! Guild Wars 2 I installed after and it looked BEAUTIFUL maxed out although I getting horrible FPS so I just looked at what I could and turned it down to medium which runs decently 25-30 FPS I believe even during events that I did take part in.

I’m sure you guys are really busy I’ve seen many of the forums for windows and mac. I wouldn’t mind if I could run the game every time and then encountered a bug while I was playing to then report but I can’t run this pretty much at all! Since the 2 or 3 times I’ve played it hasn’t worked since…….I am seriously a BIG FAN. I got GW 1 late but was instantly hooked, it only took 2 months for me to have the other expansions that’s how much I enjoyed it. It just REAALLLLYY sucks to sit here look at the game case, the desktop item of GW 2 and I know there is no point in clicking because it won’t run. PLEASE do something for fans like me who love Guild Wars and went to lengths just to get to play GW2. I don’t want to sit here another month without getting to play this game, if that’s the case please direct me to where I can get a refund please and thank you. I’ve included the items you need below. I HOPE someone from Arena Net gets back to me with a solution or a very soon to be update.

Sorry to hear about your frustration, I know how you feel as there were days back in the beta event I had similar issues.

I took a quick glance at the test report and noticed your operating system is Windows XP Pro SP2, Did you know that there is a Service Pack 3 available for Windows XP? it will surely include many updates to the operating system itself and other drivers and programs etc.

I am not saying that this is the cause of your problems, I am saying this could be potentially worth trying as you may have outdated operating system files that are required to run this game. Its a free download that also includes many updated security patches so its beneficial for you to upgrade to the latest service pack.

If you would like to try this then it should be as simple as checking for available updates in the windows update section in your control panel. If that does not work then you can manually download and install it directly from Microsoft’s website.

To Nitro: ya I was aware of that, when i looked at the pack though it had said something like mainly for developers if I remember correctly so that’s why i didn’t bother with it. It’s sooo frustrating man, cause the little time I did get to play I didn’t want to stop, that’s how good this game is to me. I will give it a shot an download service pack 3, hopefully that works or Arena net gets in touch with me, which isn’t looking good right now.

Well I was supposed to upgrade to windows 7 but skipped out on it because I wanted this game Asap! Looks like I should have just gone for the windows 7, my own fault for being too eager I guess……lesson learned for next time.

Well I just upgraded to service pack 3 and same thing just like I thought it would be……screen stutter to black screen. Whenever this happens I have to manual reboot cause my drivers get messed. So lame.

Your video card is not capable to run in GW2 @ 1920×1080 max. GT 610 $45 card. Even at low, the FX-6100 will have issue with the game, with the GT 610.
Suggest upgrading to Win 7 64bit and make sure you have 4GB ram.
Also upgrading to a good gpu will help, which might need a new power supply.
