Can we make a thread just for posting the tracerts in regarding the ongoing connection issues and unplayable lag that we’ve been getting over the last week in EU?

1) To run tracert, first go into GW2 and, on a map that you’re having issues with, type “/ip” and press enter.

2) Open a command prompt window (as admin) and type "tracert (number from step 1).

3) Let it finish (it will go to number 30) and then paste results in here. (You can select all via right click on the command prompt window, then copy with ctrl-c).

u can post all u want but:

1)Anet isnt admitting the fault is on their end.

2)Since they arent admitting they wont do anything.

3)It doesnt matter either your from Poland, Germany or Swaziland this lag is worldwide coming from Anet’s side.

4)Most of this lag started after they “improved” the game with their last patch

5)This is what you get from f2p mmos.

I’m not from Europe. I don’t mean to be speaking for you all over on the other side of the pond. However, all of your traces look fabulous. Except for schoseba.6752 who has a high latency on the first hop probably because he or she has a wireless connection. Nehalem.8196 is the only one that shows a possible issue on a hop outside of Anet’s network. This lag you are experiencing most likely has nothing do to with your network or ISP based on the evidence you posted by pasting your traces to the guildwars2 servers. Just a friendly reminder that “* * * Request timed out” is not evidence of lag but more likely a perimeter firewall or edge router dropping packets intentionally and is by design.

I can hardly say that I fully understand what that tracert is or what exactly does it mean. But is it OK if all of the tracerts (including all of my attempts) always end with the line “206-127-157-102.plaync.com [206.127.157.102]”?

Until now I was pretty sure that the problem is the “Request timed out” line. But atm – I am a bit confused. How should such a tracert look like if everything is fine?

Yes it is OK and means Anet cares about the performance of their gaming network. The traces posted above look like what “normal” traces should look like. The “Request timed out” is just indicating the trace was stopped at some point before it reached the destination IP address. I just wanted to point this out to the OP before this thread turns into a long, winded post of normal traces.

expect this thread to get locked soon, they locked the FPS thread to cover up the fact there are issues, I would expect that to happen here soon as well.
