If you are getting abusive chat or email from another player, the very first thing you should do is to block the other player. That will prevent them from contacting you. The wonderful thing about Guild Wars 2 is that the block is account wide so none of their characters on the blocked account can contact any of your characters on your account. The second thing you should do is report the chat or email to ArenaNet. The GM’s in this game take a VERY dim view of player abuse. They will review the chat or email and take appropriate action.

You do not have to put up with abuse in this game. Block them, report them and then go back to enjoying the game.

some advice. just skim the first few words of any mail and if it seems like its gonna be abusive just report it then delete it with out reading the rest.

or make youtube videos of the ingame mails u get and mock them on youtube and post it on reddit / gw2 guru forums and put a smile on others faces
just don’t post it on the gw2 official site u will be in trouble for naming and shaming.

also u will very quickly learn to just laugh at what they write. if they are sending this mail to you its because you made them feel very small and insignificant and this is how they feel “big and strong” by making you feel bad for making them look bad infront of their friends if u managed to kill them in a 1v1 or 2v1 situation.

now how they get ur details is they click you and then do /invite @ when targeting you and it sends a group party request to you and when u get the inv option they can see your account contact name like the forums have when u post.
I used to get that ALOT when I was killing players in the obsidium sanctum on my engineer

so every time I get one of those mails or ingame /w I consider it a victory

The “servers” that we have now are only relevant for WvW contests. There are no enemy factions in Tyria. You could be doing events in Orr or Queen’s Dale beside them even if they are on a different “server”. We are all one big (usually) happy family.

I have never tried it, but I imagine it is possible to add someone to your friends list in WvW even if they are on an opposing team. Once they have added you to their friends list, they can chat and email you easily. If you want to check if the person has added you to their friends list, look in the Contacts screen on the Followers tab and see if their account name (same as was on the in game mails) is listed there. You can block them from there as well if you want to.

It is not a hack or an exploit. The whole structure of the game is to be friendly and encourage friendly participation. That is one of the reasons for account wide guilds, friend lists and (fortunately) block lists. It is designed to make it as simple as possible for people to meet and keep up with their friends and acquaintances. It is also the reason why the GMs are death on harassment and abuse. They do not want it in the game. Ever.

So check your Follower’s list and if the player has “friend” listed you, block them and report them. If you have already deleted the email, you can still give ArenaNet the date and time you got the email and they can look it up in the logs. Everything is logged so if he/she sent it, they will find it and take action.

Can’t you report any mail that comes in (the Exclamation point at the bottom of the mail)?

Report them, block them and move on.
GW2 Devs are not likely to respond to a request like you are making and they certainly are not going to block senders for you. If you feel this a legitimate harassment issue, submit a customer service ticket. SERVICES (top of page) > SUPPORT > SUBMIT TICKET (top right of SUPPORT page).
