I had trouble logging in to GW2 today so I checked my email and found that I couldn’t log into it either. I changed the passwords to both, and when I was finally able to get on my GW2, I saw that most, if not all of the things across my toons had been salvaged and sold off. Almost everything in my guild bank had been taken as well. I submitted a support ticket and am hoping for the best. One of my main concerns though, would be the guild bank since a lot of the things in there had belonged to my girlfriend and I know she’s worked hard for a lot of it. I checked the guild bank and it said that the items taken was 1 day ago, so that must have been when the hack started, but when I checked my email, I had every email up to April 10th read. Pretty frightening.

I’m considering changing emails but I’m not sure if that would help, but at least the password is changed. I’ll also be getting the verification app linked to my account and I’ll keep an eye out for any progress on my ticket. I removed and disconnected all accepted IPs as well.

Unfortunately, nothing from your Guild Bank can be restored. Everything else, can, though, so that’s good news. Remember, that if your email account has been compromised (and it sounds as though it has), your mail may be intercepted by the usurper. You might consider creating a brand new email account and corresponding through that, as well as linking your game account to it.

I do recommend a new e-mail account, just because I am not certain that anyone can be 100% certain that a previously-hacked account is clear. If only for peace of mind, you might consider that, then contact Support through a new ticket, referencing your existing ticket (from the possibly-insecure e-mail account) in the subject line, and proceeding with the reaccess, restoration, and new-account-name processes.

That does help give me some peace of mind, thank you. I’ve made a new email to use just for Guild Wars and sent a new ticket referencing the previous one. It’s too bad about the guild bank though. We’ll just have to rebuild then. Thank you very much for the help guys, I’m hoping for the best.
