Account Hacked.
Same here arena, I eagerly await a response from you guys.
Ive noticed a drop in response from Arena admins on my topics, its either they don’t reply or reply sparringly. Whats going on? You people reply to other peoples post and not mine? I’m in need of help aswell, money is spent on getting my account. And i deserve to be helped like everyone else.

I’m sorry this happened to you man.. but Arenanet doesn’t really help people out. In every thread I’ve been reading in this forum their only reply was “Sorry this happened to you, I’m sure it’s being looked at but if you don’t get a response post in the ‘tickets for review’ thread after 3 days” they say that same exact thing in every single thread. I’d suggest going to another MMO, I may do that myself because I too have been wronged when I know a company (like Blizzard of course) would NEVER let that happen to me.. They’d respond within the hour not wait 3 days then say there’s nothing they can do.

I love this game, i cant leave my friends behind. Im willing to wait and wait, havent been playing since the 17th. If i do logon i just stay in one spot, messaging my friends then logoff..
But the long wait means i’ll be missing the winterfest event…

Game event is the funnest with friends, since i cant play till the restoration. All my progress before the restoration will be gone.. So no point playing till the account is restored.

I can play? I havent moved from the storage area in LA since the 17th, i might aswell be not playing.
It’s almost christmas time and still no improvement on my restoration, i guess Arena will let me suffer more even on a holiday. Sigh
Bumping due to similar hacking/digital robbery issue. By the time I noticed any damage done, my characters had been transferred to another server and all that could be stolen, salvaged, or otherwise was gone from my account.
It’s Christmas and all we want is our accounts the way they were before the hacking back, that would be the greatest gift.
My previous message was infracted when it didn’t have any foul language whatsoever, i don’t know where this will head to at all. It’s a week and still no response for my ticket, all i get is infraction this and that and all my post doesn’t include any foul language whatsoever.
Arena, please do a restoration on my account. You people confirmed this, and yet your not taking any action whatsoever. Please please please do a restoration, if you all are sick of me on the forums. Restore my account and i’ll be off your backs, its that simple. Not taking any action will just force me to post more.
Has your issue been resolved yet? Just noticed on the tickets (3 days or more) that Gaile said she followed up on it. Has your account been fixed? My partner also sent a ticket off the same time as you and has heard nothing yet…

When i just got hacked, they transmuted all my cultural to non-acount bound crap and stole it all. Nearly all my fancy weapons too. Absolutly gutted!
Thing is, where can you put it where it’s safe and whats the point, why have it but not wearing it for fear of loosing it when getting hacked?!

My ticket is still on the updated status so i don’t know at all, just gonna have to login to see if they did a restoration. I’ll post updates.
Could be their still processing the restoration, giving it a few hours to a day. If not i guess their not really gonna help us.
They won’t be working today bro, not a hope so if its something that they are just waiting to activate, it will be tomorrow at the earliest. Let us know how it goes though bro.

Thats just crazy, i missed alot of the winterday event. Since the 17th, missed out all the fun with friends in the game. Missed out on everything, this is frustrating.

The hackers might be active in-game and when they spot you in shiny stuff they’ll go after you! :S
Nah, its just random chance, well 95% of the time at least. Mike O’Brien said this about how the hacks are happpening:
“hackers use tens of thousands of different IP addresses to scan through millions of attempted account names and passwords, almost all of which are for accounts that don’t even exist in our database, looking for matches. They’re not guessing or brute-forcing passwords; they’re trying a very specific account name and password for each attempt. For example, account name “joe.user@example.com”, password “alligator101?. If they don’t get a match immediately, they may try a variant like “alligator100? or “alligator102?, then they quickly move on to the next entry on their list.”
Just a bit further down the same post he says:
“But in recent years, a truly staggering number of game companies and web sites have had their account databases breached. These reports of security breaches — 77 million accounts, 25 million accounts, 24 million accounts, untold millions more — may seem abstract, too big to be real, but they’re obviously not. The information stolen from database breaches is worth a lot of money to hackers, who can take the stolen account credentials and use them to attack each new game that’s released.”
So, the account information has been stolen. You really do get an idea on why it is so important to have an unique password for everything though.

As I have posted, I have asked the team to look into this matter and move forward on the restoration. It IS on the review list. With Christmas Eve and Christmas Day — and I’m keenly aware that you know the dates — the restorations seem a little backed up, but I wrote about yours last night, and I do believe it will happen soon. I am going to lock this thread because you’re in the right one — Tickets for Review — and this one isn’t necessary.
I will cross my fingers that my email is acted upon very swiftly!
