Guild Wars 2

I have returned after a spell of not playing guild wars 2, to find my password incorrect to when logging in. After changing the password correctly i am then confronted with a message in the client telling me I’ve been permanently banned. I really enjoy guild wars 2 and the only thing i can think of that could be the issue is that someone else has logged into my account, changed the password and when i have gone to change it, it has thought of me as a bot. I have not broken any of the rules of agreement that it has said i have and i hope i can get member of support staff to try and get this sorted and my account recovered.

note : This is a friend of the player who account has been banned, and i have written in first person.

Your friend needs to submit a ticket about their account. Top of the page, click on support, and they can file the ticket there. Good luck.

Your friend’s account was most likely ‘banned’ because of the usurper’s actions. He/she will need to secure his/her computer and email account and contact CS for assistance in regaining control of the account.

They have filled out a ticket, What is the average response time?

It can vary depending on a lot of things.

They’ve responded which was very quick and I’m glad to see this.

Although, the issue is still unresolved :/

If your account was hacked it will take time to establish ownership and return control to you. If they just turned it over to the first person who claimed it, the hacker would immediately email support and say “someone hacked my account!” and establish himself as the owner.

okay. If someone did hack my account, should there not be an unrecognised ip in email authentication? There has been no unknown ips and so has my account really been compromised?

It’s possible the hacker might have deleted the IP after they finished doing everything they wanted to do with the account. Really at this point you should just wait and speak with support.

Remember, if a game account is compromised, the email account associated with it can, and often is, compromised as well. As such, any correspondence from authentication or support services can easily be masked or destroyed.

Make sure to secure your email address, or better yet create something new and unique.

To be honest, im not bothered with the whole hacked account thing because my highest level was like 17. I hadnt spent any money ingame and had no personal details linked to that account. Just want to be able to continue playing haha. Thanks for the replies though people.
