I was wondering, since I was completely new to the Guild Wars world when I created my account, if it’s possible to change the account name?

No, it is not possible to change your display name on request unless it is for a security issue, such as using your real name, or because the name is found inappropriate. I know some of us wish we had been better informed at Display name creation…lol…I would have probably picked something easier to pronounce and spell. =)
