So I just log in and got a message.
It said that my account will be shut down or partially limited withing 72 hours due to currency transactions (havent bought gems in months) or abnormal logins (?)
And it says that I should go on a link to validate account just to cancel this?

It was sent from GM Thetaffer.
Just want to comfirm, if this is a real GM then ye why not remove it or whatever, but if it isn’t then I’ll report this as a scam.

At the very bottom it will say that the PM is not sent from a member from ANet.

It’s a phishing attempt. Report and block.

Also all emails from ArenaNet staff will have their red logo. And any in-game character that is an ArenaNet staff member will have the same logo next to the name above their head. See attached picture for what the logo looks like. You’ll see the logo at the head of the email and it will be the email icon on your emails list.

Anet has stated that they will NEVER contact you about account issues (via game mail, email or any other method). As mentioned above, they have added a message at the bottom of EVERY in-game mail that identifies when the mail is from another player.

Anet would simply suspend the account and it will be your responsibility to contact support and get the issue resolved.

That is a spam/phishing attempt.

If you went to the link they gave you and tried to log on, you just gave someone your GW2 login info — please change your password!!
