Guild Wars 2

I have linked my Gw1 and GW2 accounts, and did so months back. A guild member recently informed me that I should have access to “points” in HoM from just linking my accounts. However I was under the impression I was required to own EotN for GW1 in order to access HoM rewards.

Could Anet (or Gaile) clarify this and verify my account status? The site here states its linked properly and I have access to HoM in GW2 itself. However as I said there is nothing there for me and the historian gives a generic speach.

According to Guild Wars 2 developers, you will have the option of “Declaring your ancestor” to receive the Hall of Monuments rewards by linking your Guild Wars 2 game account with one Guild Wars game account.¹
You will be able to link a single Guild Wars game account to your Guild Wars 2 game account at any time after creating your Guild Wars 2 account.
Only accounts with the Eye of the North expansion and who have unlocked the Hall of Monuments are eligible for rewards.

Also, on the same site: ‘filling one’s Hall of Monuments is the only way to unlock a number of Guild Wars 2 bonus items and titles.’ Here they mean, if you meet the requirements you can get the first 3 points, which are 3 specific armor skins, without doing anything else.

The first 3 points are clearly called that they are a reward for linking accounts. No HoM or EoTN needed. My storage account (factions only) clearly shows 3 points in the calculator, Is the calculator misleading me??
How about the pre-searing titles?? Those are rewards you can link without owning EotN, cause there are 5, there are also 5 points in total (3 for account linking, 1 for for first statue, and 1 for 5th status) that you can claim without EotN.
I had a lot of debate bout this and I would be really dissapointed in Anet if the unlocked points (according to the calculator on their website) would not be available. I also haven’t seen proof it would not be. So proof pls

The quotes I showed are directly from the site listed on my post. You will have 3 points shown regardless whether or not you have EOTN but you can’t actually get the rewards for it unless you meet the requirements. As the site said, you need both the EOTN campaign and to have unlocked the HoM.

This Hall of Monuments can be visited by any Guild Wars 2 character and as often as you like.

You must unlock your monuments to receive any rewards, be they the ‘freebies’ for linking accounts or any others. The whole purpose of the Hall of Monuments rewards was to reward your ‘achievements’ in GW and to do so, you had to have EotN and open up your monuments. You can’t claim any statues without placing them in your unlocked monuments, because that is where statues show up. It doesn’t take much research to discover this.
