Not because i hate the game. Not because anything but a simple number…

code 7… followed by a code 3032.

From day one i have had this problem… Im running a comcast ct-5361…

this problem actually causes my router to show my internet light off and my adsl light flashing.. i have fought my isp for months to try and resolve it. but they are clueless.. i have spend countless hundreds replacing every inch of cable from me to the box.. i have replaced routers.. and cards.. i have tried wireless and wired.. i have wasted time and money on fixing this horrid problem. and it all started with gw2 being installed.. i have tried countless fixes…. nothing works.. nothing helps..

if anyone else is getting freequent router crashes.. and gw2 seems to make they crashes happen constantly… and the error reads code 7 followed by code 3032.. i suggest you just stop too because there is no fix for it.

yes as you can tell i am pretty angry i have been waiting forever for this game.. spent 75 bucks on two copies of the game for a friend and myself.. then spend like 200 getting ingame stuff.. all to have it end shortly after starting because gw2 seems to crash my router more than cocane crashes movies stars.

Change the ISP.
an ISP that can not deliver you a steady router connection and is clueless regarding this has a serious service problem.

are you using a dialer to connect to the internet, or is you router always connected?

I have my phone line installed directly from the phone box.. about 8 feed through my wall and into my jack. then from my jack into the back of my router/modem. then into my computer via ethernet.. i have replaced every single part at least 2 times to make sure the problem is not on my end.. my ping and speedtests are perfect.. i have had my lines checked.. i have replaced my router.. and filters… i have replaced my phone… i have replace my phone line.. i have done full updates.. full windows installs. and full gw2 installs.. i have dont it all.. same code 7 follows by 3032 if you are paitent and do not mash ctrl alt dlt out of anger.

and i live in a small mountain area with a single isp… no other options. however i have had this never forever and never had a single issue.. installed gw2 betta and played without issue… logged on after getting home from a fire assignment and went to play the gw2 and boom.. started disconecting.. started slow.. increased in duration.. now i cannot play more than 5 minutes without a dc.. unplayable.

Have you tried to update the router firmware?
Also i would suggest to try to play with the QoS setting your router or any other options in the router and see if there is a difference or something. Could be some sort of conflict on how gw2 handle packet transfert to your router.

Your problem is definatly not hardware side but most likely software side so changing cables to your phone line or anything wont help. This is an issue withing the router and how it handle the gw2 traffic. You need to start messing with your router setting and perform test with different setting.

QoS = Quality of Services
This is a feature that allow packets to be delivered to the source in his totality with no error.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quality_of_service

I have seen in the past QoS causing problems with certain games. I suggest to try to find those option in your router config and play with them if you notice any difference.

On the assumption this isn’t just a report of you leaving and you would appreciate some troubleshooting advice to hopefully get the game working again;

Try running a command prompt (start> type cmd and hit enter on win7) then type ping -t www.google.com (or any reliable site name).

That will run a constant ping every second. Leave that running while you run guild wars 2 and see what happens.

Also contact your line provider and ask what the REN number is and how many units you can run off your line.

Hi Kootz,

Sorry to here about your frustration with getting this game to work. I have experienced problems like the one you are having before. In other games this problem occurred because the router or router firmware could not handle the amount of information and/or number of connections that were being used. This would cause either the router to loose its sync with the internet provider or reboot itself to reload its firmware.

In the past I have found that upgrading to a more powerful router could resolve this. Also updating the firmware or using a custom firmware could resolve this. I rectified my personal problem by choosing to move to a firmware called “Tomato” installed onto a router with powerful hardware (Asus RT-N16) that supported the Tomato project. This router was advertised has being able to handle 300,000 session and a very fast processor ( 480MHz – fast compared to other routers manufactured on the same year).

Once I installed the Tomato firmware I was presented with better control over my hardware, I did not have the standard limited controls Internet Providers like to provide.

In the end this solved my problem, I no longer have a router that restarts every time I would launch my games. However without spending money it would be a nice start to investigate and troubleshoot your problem with your current setup.

It would be a good start to know what hardware and software we are dealing with, so if you would not mind could you please tell us the make and model of the router you are currently using and what version of the firmware you have installed on it.

Thanks,

Nitro

Try turning off SPI on the firewall if you have that option. The Comtrend’s (assuming its Comtrend NOT Comcast) have a funky limitation with their NAT sessions. If you have 1 computer using this connection, I’d try putting it into bridge mode to see if bypassing the router resolves the issue. Otherwise, get a DSL router that will work with this game (I can attest that the ActionTec GT724R works fine).

If you are really desperate you can try a 3rd party firmware (http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/comtrend/ct5361) and see you get better results (at your own risk).

Wow, first i would like to thank all of you for your responses. how awesome.

Anyways i was and am still having a very severe disconnection issue. However after having a tech look it over it seems to have slowed a bit. nothing make sense.. when i get disconnected the internet light in my router goes out.. then the adsl light starts flashing… i used to think this only happened when i was on gw2.. but now it happens when i browse or stream movies. it even happens when im doing nothing.. and it has even happened when the computer is off.. I have 2 different modems that do the same thing.,.. 6 different filters that do the same thing…. a wireless card and built in ethernet that do the same thing… i feel like i have covered all my bases and it is still happening…

My only possible solution now is that a while back.. when i bought my new home phone… (before gw2 even launched) when i first started using it it had an issue with sometimes the phone would just sound terrible.. all staticy and jarbles.. so im going to replace the phone and hopefully fix my dissconect issues.. probably not though.. and ashley i am downloading and installing what i need to get the report going.. its late so i may not get to playing tonight…. so i will probably do it after work tomorrow.

Its a common problem with low spec routers. The NAT table doesn’t release as fast as it fills and the Enet or even in some cases the unit as a whole crashes.

It can also be caused by the usage of a certain type of glue that turns corrosive / inductive as it ages causing bridge taps between trace pins, or an overheat crash.

The only definite fix is to buy a higher end modem/router. Avoid Trash(Texas) Instrument based hardware, Broadcom is preferable usually.

all staticy and jarbles.. so im going to replace the phone and hopefully fix my dissconect issues.

This is another possibility, but the phone itself won’t be the problem. Rather it would be induction or a foreign battery on the phone line. Report it was a phone fault rather than an adsl fault as most line operators prioritise Voice faults higher than Data.

There is two possibility to your problem
1- Your phone line outside the house linking to the concentrator are in bad shape (solution: you need an ISP tech to come test the wiring to make sure everything is alright)
2- If you are on DSL connection and are outside a radius of 4.6km from the central then your out of luck your signal will randomly cut.

Hi there,

I used to be a DSL technician so i think i can shed some light.

If you are on a DSL connection Please follow the list.

1. Check you DSL filters, you may think that they are fine but more often than anything dropped connections are caused by faulty filters. Take all telephones and filter off you line and leave you modem on.

2. Your SNR and attenuation values may be too high or too low. In the case of SNR, this value needs to be above 6db to gain a signal able to avoid dc’s. In the case of attenusation this value needs to be below 55db to avoid resistance allocation errors for CRC checks. If these values are off contact you ISP.

3. AS stated though. QOS will not cause dropped connections. If you have a log generater on your modem check for any PPP errors which would indicate that your ISP is having edge radius failures.

Hope this helps.

QoS will not cause a droped connection from the modem, as QoS works as pre-cursor to physical tcp deployment. The OP describes the connection dropping from the modem( ie. Internet and DSL lights off and flashing) this a physical problem with the connection between his/her modem and the edge state router at his exchange. Nothing to do with software.

QoS does not get implemented on network connection protocols operating at the physical network layer.

wingLessZA.3589 is right QoS will not drop is modem signal. I suggested to look at his QoS because i thought only his gw2 had problem to connect but if the whole modem signal drop randomly that another story.

Neither actually Im a wildland firefighter for the united states forest service. I spent the months of may until now traveling to fires and working 16 hour shifts just to sleep in the dirt when you finally do get some sleep. Do that 14 or 21 days in a row.. then 2 days off.. and repeat until snow falls. eventually after you realize that just spent all summer working twice as hard as a one of those cool people with the smart guy jobs.. you will want to relax all winter.

Yes i have actually spent a decent amount on this game. because i spent all summer working my tail off and dreaming about this game. Now i have an entire jobless winter to throw at guild wars 2. 4 more days of work baby. then coast mode.

^and anyone who thinks that’s a bad thing needs to realize i worked not only your normal 80 hour pay period But an additional 142 hours of overtime. so ya.. i can do what i want.

as for the line issue.. the whole qos thing makes sense. im going to ask my isp about it. and about getting a higher quality router.

Is DSL your only option where you live? I would consider switching providers if you have the option. I am fortunate and have 100 Mbs connection where I live, life is so much easier. How far away are you from the CO?
