Q:

Looking for some analysis on these PCs and how they will run Guild Wars! Thanks in advance.

Computer 1
HP Pavilion – $319.00
Processor: AMD E2-1800 1.7GHz
Memory: 4GB DDR3 1333
Hard Drive: 500GB 7200RPM SATA
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7340
Operating System: Windows 8

Computer 2
HP XW4600
Intel Quad Core 2.5 GHz processor
6GB memory (4×1GB sticks)
1 SATA 500 GB hard drive
1 GB Nvidia GeForce GT 440 2GB Dedicated.

Just turned 18 today (Woo!) and looking to get a cheap computer that can run Guild Wars 2 until I find a job eventually, tough job market even to be chicken dipper…

Computer 2 has a better CPU & GPU than computer 1, but it will still run gw2 on low settings. PVE/PVP playable, WvW not so well.

See Part 2.2 here to learn what parts to get for GW2

Really need to save for a PC to play this game, kinda stinks it’s so CPU bound but a great read in Part 2.2.

Should look into building your own system for gaming, its cheaper. You can start off with a good CPU like i5-3570k (use it’s integrated gpu) and then buy a better dedicated GPU later.

when you can find a 6-8ghz tricore or better cpu from amd or intel you will have found your cpu to run this game decent, till then, your not gonna get decent perf.

I’d really like to build my own but have never built one before. Need to read up some more on PC components, don’t fully understand them yet, many decisions to make when building a PC.

Yea building a computer looks more complicated than it is.

your bassic check list from scratch is.

Case
PowerSupply (PSU)
Motherboard (has onboard sound)
CPU
CPU Cooler
RAM
GraphicsCard (GPU)
HDD &/or SSD
Optical Drive (CD/DVD-ROM)

Thats the actual computer done.
Then u need accessories.

Monitor
Speakers
Mouse
Keyboard

If ur just building whats inside the box u can build a really nice gaming rig capable of playing GW2 for around $/£800. Add on more if u need the accessories.
