Q:

Hey All,
I’ve been playing the game fora few months now and on occasion i will drop from 60-120 fps to 15-20. Depending on the situation this can be anywhere from a minor inconvience to a huge problem. I’ve looked through a few other posts and seeing how the game is cpu dependent , I’m leaning toward a heating problem since I use a labtop. I included my dxdiag however and I would welcome any suggestions before I send in a ticket and see if maybe anet could help met.

The game is very cpu dependent. If you are entering a massive zerg, the amount of people will kill your fps since the processor cannot keep up

Either way, if you have a heating problem or cpu bottleneck, a support ticket will not solve the issue. Of course, anet will like record of the people who are experiencing performance issues.

I guess you should repaste your laptop and clean the fan to see if that lower temperatures.

the video clearly states that you are experiencing a cpu bottleneck. 1 core is maxed out dragging both your other cpu cores and gpu down.

this problem is not unusual in gw2

btw, not many goes have such large zergs. Wow does but the graphic is pretty crappy
I wonder if elder scrolls will have a zerg as large as gw2.
