As far as I remember, the policy was that people were supposed to grab their reserved names during headstart or on the launch day. Yet here I am, 11 days since the headstart, being told that the name I want is a reserved GW1 name.

I understand that you have you hands full with dealing with hacked accounts, getting the TP operational, fixing the inability of players to go into dungeons / personal story instances together and whatever else you weren’t ready for at launch, but freeing those names is a simple procedure, and one you’re probably prepared for anyway.

So could you please just make those reserved names available at last?

Some people who have reserved names still are having account issues like myself. I don’t think it would be fair to let my name go that I have had for 7 years because my ticket hasn’t been handled yet.

Indeed, it would be nice to know when these reserved names will finally become available.

I can’t use my own GW1 names because my account is linked to the wrong GW2 account. Support have been no help either, I guess the “hacked” accounts are a higher priority.

I’m with Gnomegoddess on this, I’ve got a ticket open regarding an issue with one of my own GW1 names, and I’d really like to see the issues people are having claiming these names resolved before freeing them all up.

That might be a bit selfish, but many of us gamers have had these names for 7 years, we’ve grown kinda attached to them.

I’ve been wanting to know when those names would be freed up for awhile now. There are a few I would like to use, and I’d rather not make the characters I planned to use them on before I know if I will actually be able to use the name or not.

Gnomegoddess you’re right, it wouldn’t be fair.

But ANet is completely silent about when they’re planning to make those names available (tomorrow? in a week? in a couple of months?) which isn’t fair either to people who are waiting for them (and the only information we have is that they were supposed to be made available around a week ago).

I’m not asking them to free the names now, I (and surely many others in the same situation) would just like to know when it is going to happen.

I hope they don’t get freed anytime soon, ‘cause I haven’t been able to play ‘cause i’m still waiting on support. My ticket was made on 08/23/2012 and last response I got was on 08/31/2012.

Freeing up those names now would be a mistake imho.

I’m in the same boat as others. My GW2 account was “auto-linked” with the incorrect GW1 account, I currently cannot get ANY of my names from GW1.

Run Amok, if you look Here they detail that you had to log in sometime during 2012 to reserve the names :/

AFAIR you had to log on to GW1 at least once between January and July this year (not sure about the exact dates) in order for your names to be reserved.

You had to be actively playing Guild Wars during the months leading up to the release for names to be reserved. Unfortunately as you haven’t played in some time, your names won’t have been reserved for you.

It’s my opinion that names shouldn’t have been reserved in the first place. So I’d like to see them available sooner rather than later.

Both my daughter and I are in the same boat. We linked our main account but our secondaries are still reserved. While I do appreciate that support is extremely busy, it would be nice to get an official update posted on the official sites,facebook,twitter, ect,
letting people know when they can expect those names to be released.
This would probably eliminate a lot of tickets creation and relieve frustrations from the players.
