Me and my girlfriend(two different Internets) cannot log in, talking about firewall problems, but with gw2 allowed and/or the firewall disabled gw2 doesn’t work. Error 42. It was out of the blue as gw2 almost always works.

Yup, 1/2 the time I’m unable to log in (authentication server issues) and the other half I’m unable to do anything after I’ve loaded in (which is usually followed by a client lost its connection to server error).

I’m guessing it’s a problem with Optimum. I can’t log in myself.

I just started having this issue today. A few hours ago. I can barely even load the website, Ihave to use my phone. All my other internet things work fine though. It is just the gw2 website and game that refuse to connect/are super slow.

Same here for me. Even getting this page to load was a bear. I called Optimum and gave them the situation that game and website are having connection issues with an IP address as well. Crossing fingers for a speedy fix. Please call your ISP’s to let them know too. I’m assuming this is an Optimum only issue as I found a couple more IP’s not related to the game having issues.

Let me correct that, after trace routing it’s dying at the NC Soft servers.

Absolutely right. If you are in the NY area with Optimum online you are likely running into this issue. Try pinging the Anet IP for GW client:

1. run gw.exe -diag and you will see that your packets are dropping.

or

2. You can just ping.

I would call Optinum if you care about this issue. It is likely something between anet and Optinum.

It appears fixed now. Guessing it was an Akamai issue?

It is not an Optimum isuue (whatever that is – guessing an ISP?).

Also in Romania the issue just appeared 1h ago.

The the issue that we cannot connect after 18.30 European time was not enough, now we get this problem. Guys seriously, what the heck are you doing over there? …. It’s not like you have too many users right?
