Guild Wars 2

So, as I said I have a new PC on the way and want to play GW2 on it. Do I need to do anything with my account to ensure my character and serial are useable on my new machine? I’ve searched the forums and found nothing. I just want to make sure before I wipe out the old tower. Thanks in advance

You might save your CD Key somewhere, but other than that, you can ‘wipe’ your old tower.

You can play your game account anywhere that the client is installed, as long as you know your Account Name (email address associated with your game account) and password.

If you have authentication enabled, you will need to verify the IP, as well, of course.

Just to be on the safe side: install client on the new computer and make sure that you have access to your account from that one before wiping out the old one.

All you really need is to know your login-name and your password since everything
is saved on ANets servers.
However if you only have an email with you keycode it wouldn’t be bad to
make sure you have a backup in any form .. may it be a txt.file or just written
down on a piece of paper-

If you have an external HDD ( a big one ) you can just locate your GW2 folder and copy the entire thing to the HDD when the new system arrives, copy it back into the new system, go into the folder, recreate the shortcut from the .exe and enter login info and go, this will save you downloading all 20gb of the game again, unless you have superfast internet and don’t mind the download.

Your characters are tied to your account which is located on the game servers and has nothing to do with your computer. Once the new computer comes all you have to do is install GW2 and then log in with your email and password, same as always
