A few years back I bought the GW2 core game from a website, and now that the new expansion is around the corner, I would like to try it. The website states that only EU keys were available. If possible, I would like to buy it from the main site, but my payment method is not supported here, so I had to buy it at other sites.
So the question is, are these keys region-locked or not?
They pretty much dispensed with region-locking long ago. However, you may, or may not, find monetary transactions within the game will be limited to the region of the key.
At least, that was the last statement (some time ago) by a Dev. It may have changed since then.
You can always contact the CS Team and ask for more information, if you so desire.
