Guild Wars 2

Hey guys.

So i just resetted my password and i needed to enter my serial to do it. I told my guildmates about it and they said that Arenanet never asks for serials, so i’m pretty scared right now!

So some clarifications on the subject or anyone who knows if its intended would be much appreciated!

If you went to password recovery thru the official website because you forgot your password then yes it does ask for the code, e-mail, and charater name.

If you went thru some link that you got in your e-mail then it may of been a phisher.

What site is you visit? The official forum here or an email sent to you. If it was an email then you need to change your password here immediately. .

I went through the recovery password site, here on the forums, so it looked legit!

If you used the forum password site here then it is legitimate.

Must be because it was password recovery, not password changer. They will ask for serial number to establish ownership if someone is asking to recover a lost password.

The actual password reset process (from the client) DOES ask for your SN (and the other info mentioned above).
