It’s pretty frustrating and from what I read around here and on reddit it is also rather prevalent.

“Try reducing the graphics”. I’m already on minimum. It doesn’t change much. Instead of crashing every 1min it crashes every 5.
And everywhere I look for a dev response, there is none. Pretending a problem doesn’t exist won’t make it go away you know.
The issue is very old I am aware of that but it wasn’t so bothersome until now. One random crash at tequatl is no biggie, however perma crashing in your new maps and major cities is kittening frustrating.

There must be a memory leak for you. I have everything at maximum (and 1600p, supersampling on) except character model limit to lowest and I almost never get OOM errors.

There is a memory leak and it is a problem. I can literally watch it. With task manager open on a side monitor, I can watch the GW2.exe process use more, and more, and more memory. I’ve got 16 GB of ram, so I can play for a good chunk of time before it catches me. I feel for those with 8 GB or less…

Anything with a large amount of “things” going on, like world boss fights, and EotM/WvW shows this happening quickly.

I have only 4 gigs of memory running windows 10 64bit and have never got an OOM error. I do world bosses, wvw and play for hours at a time with the highest settings that still give a good fram rate. I’m not sure why you are getting crashes and I’m not, but it would say to me it is something in your system.

And thats the issue, something has changed about the system now required, I could play everywhere no issue except in silverwastes, now i cant play anywhere without getting the error, it could be 5 mins or i can play for 30mins .. but i know at some point il be kicked.

If the game requirements have changed then at least tell people, I feel like i wasted money on game I can no longer play (and if i had the money I would ofc upgrade, just like if they had said they requirements are different and I can no longer play even on the lowest settings, I would not have brought HoT and I would have gone found something else to do)

(I have been playing since beta, have a lot of hrs clocked up, this is the first time I have had errors to this extent)

You can upgrade to Windows 64bit free of charge, depending on which Windows you have. Might consider investigating that.

Good luck.

If you crash OOM with all settings on min its time to say goodbye to your ancient
32-bit windows and install a 64-bit OS.

Its not a “leak”, its called memory fragmentation.

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

I have 64 bit yet I still crash 50-90 minutes without fail with OOM errors yet other games work fine, I left one game running for 8 hours; no crash.

Now what.

most of the oom crashes i have seen have been to do with nvidia cards… most people i know running AMD are having next to no issue, im curious to know if anyone using an amd platform has had problems?

This is only directed toward those using a 32-bit OS.
