I’ll spare the long story, but basically I bought GW1 MONTHS ago (I know this isn’t a GW1 forum, but please don’t close this thread immediately on reading this yet) and am only just now recieving tiny bits of “help” in the form of automated emails asking me if I have the game installed, and then asking me to rate my service. Please.
Anyway, yesterday I got an email to submit yet another ticket or something, but the problem is.. it asks for my GW2 serial code, which I bought before launch and don’t remember. The page tells me I can leave this blank if I don’t remember it, but it will also not progress if I don’t enter one, and of course “I don’t remember” is invalid.
I know I’ll likely get the usual “this isn’t a GW1 forum” and “We can’t help you with your problem”, but this is seriously my last option. I have responded to these emails several times and am getting nothing back. I bought this game on March 2nd and submitted a ticket then, and still cannot play (its a simple wrong username/password, but its linked with my GW2 account so I’m sort of stuck.)
Edit: The issue with being unable to submit this new ticket is now resolved… though I still feel after waiting since March 2nd I will never play GW1. :,(

Make sure to choose an option from any drop-down menus, should there be some in the form you are trying to submit.

Thanks for the response. I just tried it again to make sure I have selected all drop-down menus, and I have. This and my GW1 code are the only things I have left blank, editting my OP to show images “in case”.
Are you sure? There are 2 drop-down menus on the ticket submission web-form. You must choose an option on the second one, or an error will occur.

Positive, in the images you can see its specific to the serial code.
Your screenshot only shows the first drop-down menu. Choose an option for the second one, and try to submit again.
I know which second drop-down you are referring to, and I have selected it as well but the same error occurs.
Perhaps, you should choose Guild Wars 1, rather than Account Issue. You did state it was a GW1 issue, no?
What did you choose for the ‘Specific Issue’ drop-down menu box?
Edit: As for the error message, it gives that message when you don’t choose an option…regardless if you provide a Serial code or no.

I did, but I chose account as it seems “linking” is my biggest problem, and I did select linking in the second drop down option. (I did a GW1 trial near beta or launch of GW2 and linked the accounts, but now even though apparently it should be the same username/pass for GW1 and 2, it is not.)
I just tried it again and the ticket finally went through, I think it was putting my email address into the GW2 serial code area thanks to autofill settings, which I only noticed from scrolling up and checking an upteenth time, so now I feel silly. Thanks!

Iirc if you set a GW2 password it also overrides the GW1 password, but the GW1 can only be I think 16 or 18 characters long. If your password is longer than that trim it to this number of characters for the input field.
(At least if they didn’t fix this issue in the meantime)
