Guild Wars 2

Hi. I’m having an issue getting the background music for Guild Wars 2 to play out of my speakers. Right now, I can play the game and hear all the other sounds (ie. NPCs talking, my abilities, UI sounds, and such) through my speakers but not the background music.

I have, of course, checked to make sure that I have my in-game audio settings so that the music volume is turned up and it is on max.

The weird thing is if I change the audio device to instead play through my USB headphones, I can hear everything perfectly (including the background music). Therefore, I’m assuming it’s an issue with my audio settings out of game. I have checked updating my drivers, and they are all up-to-date. Again, my speakers use Realtek HD Audio.

This isn’t too much information to troubleshoot my issue. Does anyone know what is going on? or how I can provide more information to aid troubleshoot?

Have you checked to see if the speakers are plugged into the main audio out and not the left or right channel? Also are your headphones USB? If they are you could try a minijack to USB adapter to plug the speakers into the USB port.
