Nothing you do on the forum will change anything.
Let him write a ticket and ask for a review. That might help him. If the ticket was unanswered for more than 3 days, then you can write his ticket number in the special sticky thread for “tickets older than 3 days”.
That is the best you can do.
He got a reply before I posted this this what it said:
“This account has been closed for using an illegal third-party program. I want you to know that we take great care when analyzing accounts prior to termination. We are both diligent and conservative in determining which accounts are using these programs, and we only terminate an account after we are certain that such use has occurred. "

Hello SacuraShadow,
My friend and I both received the same message as our accounts were banned for the same reason on Feb. 3rd. We both received that same automated message but we just sent a reply afterwards on the same ticket. We both were completely innocent as well and my friend just received a response earlier this afternoon from a GM and his account was reactivated. I am still currently waiting for my response but I’m sure its just still waiting in que. Just have patience and check your email for a response from a GM.
SacuraShadow — We are all on board with making sure that players we action are indeed guilty of the infractions they’re being flagged for!
A lot of times, someone who is flagged for botting was actually hacked and the hacker used the account for cheating. The account owner gets the message and it’s a little scary. It’s also a double-whammy of hurt: Get hacked and get “accused of cheating” is how it appears. Well, both happened, but with research, we’re able to figure out that the account owner was innocent of cheating and we help him/her get back on the account and of course remove the flag for cheating (like botting).
Long explanation, sorry. We’ll take care of you boyfriend. Just ask him to follow up on the ticket and explain that he was not involved in cheating, and the agent can look into the situation to see if there was hacking+hacker cheating involved.
I think this will get sorted pretty quickly.

Gaile Gray, I also believe that there is that one person who gets angry that they cannot tag a monster and cannot get loot. That person in turn starts to rage and opts to report a player for “botting” in a ways to hopefully ban that character to rid them off of that certain spot, in this case, the karka area. In my case, or in my guild’s case, three of my guildies have been banned. They know who might’ve reported them BUT they asked if that person wanted to join their party. He or she refused.
I understand, Kuro, and sadly a few players might try to grief others by false reporting. But I think we have it covered in two ways: (1) reports are verified, and (2) those who submit false reports are subject to account action (if they do it repeatedly — an accidental mis-report isn’t going to land someone in trouble).
So it’s not likely that the blocks on the account were prompted by a person reporting three of your friends. I hope we’ll be able to sort out what did happen and get them back into the game very quickly.
