BLTC refuses to load at all
I left the BLTC window loading while I tabbed out of the game. I think I managed to tab in and out a couple of times before the game crashed with this message.
I got that error too and the game won’t start until I open Activity Monitor and end all Guild Wars processes.
The problem isn’t getting the game to start up again; I had that problem before and figured out that closing the processes in Activity Monitor fixes that. Apparently closing the “cookied” process and “winehelper” has helped some people open up the Gem Store in game, but that hasn’t changed anything for me.
Support have been useless at best with me, haven’t had a proper response though I submitted tickets last week. At the moment one way to get the utter garbage tp is to bin the bin folder, that may cause a few problems the next time you boot the game up though, if so just delete the bin folder again. Having to delete that folder every bleeping day or even several times a day is stupid though but for now that’s the best workaround for me.
So :-
go to the applications folder
show package contents for the game
open the folder then open Resources
open transgaming then the next folder
open GW2 and bin the bin folder
Another solution is bin the new tp altogether and bring back the old one if possible!
Do open tickets on this matter, hopefully with many disgruntled customers they might actually do something! For people with consistent tp problems since last week (95% of attempts to start it up have crashed my game) to save some heartache run the game in windowed mode if you are attempting to tp, at least when it fails it’s quicker to reboot the game or give up altogether.

That sounds like another reasonable solution; one I hadn’t seen before. It’s like every single mac user has a different file they can delete that might solve the problem. I’ll try that later to see if it actually has any effect.
Well it’s starting to fail me sadly…. What is this, the AIDS virus? The borg? They adapt to what little solutions people come up with? Credit goes to

many players are still stuck and i was able to fix this on my own.
technically after the patch it made everybody sad coz of coherent, for others, it fixed it using internet options.
100% fix to all users and there are two ways:
1. if u r not a technical person – uninstall the game and then go to your gw2 folder and delete the coherent file manually. then re-install the game.
2 if u r lazy but too technical – delete the current coherent file and re-install a new one(this one saved my time)
sadly I came across it in the Tech support forum, i.e. Windows support and the disparity between communication from Anet there and here is immense.
Well, I’ve reinstalled the game and pressed “O” in game to bring up the window, but so far it seems the exact same problem is persisting in the exact same way. I’ll see if waiting around for half an hour might actually bring up a godkitten thing.
Good news: after deleting the “bin” folder, the Trading Post actually loaded and all three tabs worked perfectly. Unfortunately after a while a different error message caused the game to crash, “but hey,” I think, “at least this works again”
Well. It worked once. I got overzealous immediately and bought some stuff on the trading post – but now even deleting the bin folder isn’t loading the the BLTC window anymore.
Unfortunately for some misguided, bizarre decision in this game, simply picking up files ALSO has to happen in that same bug-ridden window. If the gem store can send me stuff in the mail, then so should the trading post.
I’m not saying the Auction House in World of Warcraft never had any bugs – the last years I actually played, it was getting increasingly terrible at sorting items – but a static NPC in capital cities is somehow a far more pleasant way of handling your stuff. At least it’s reliable.
I wouldn’t be averse to a completely out-of-game gem store, and an in-game trading post that just uses actual in-game programming and the actual mailbox.
… Anyway, that’s a whole different animal, but I feel like it would solve a lot of anger and frustration.

Yes the bin deleting not only isn’t guaranteed to work it does seem to adversely affect the client, the game’s running far slower since I started deleting the bins and even starting the client can be a pain now…
Fully agree, never used Wow’s tp but other games with static tps certainly never crashed my game and I don’t recall them ever failing to load. I like having a mobile tp BUT seeing how badly Anet has done with it in practise and also as we are forced to still need static tps anyway to collect purchases and sale monies, we should at the very least be able to use a tp system that doesn’t need a flaky browser service. May mean we need to divorce the gem store from the item tp but I probably have spent more time lurking on forums than actually playing the game since the new patch with all its problems, if this had been the performance last April when I played the trial weekend that got me to embark on this journey I’d never have bought the game.
This is going to be one of those posts that will not make anyone happy but I wanted to let you all know that we are continuing to work on these issues. The production team, engineering and QA have spent the week on these issues and will continue to do so.
Thank you, Gavian. It’s unfortunate, but I understand you are not here to make people happy. I realise these aren’t things that are necessarily fixed immediately, so I’m glad to hear at least somewhat of an update.
Not a single use of the tp today, crash after crash, even with deleting the bin folder many times amongst other problems still impotent processes that prevent the tp loading. Not that the game is running too well over the last week anyway, very poor performances especially in WvW, hope a decent fix comes soon, it’s been 10days of problems already!
Well Gavian can you give us some idea of how much progress has been made? Are you able to at least replicate the issues we have? Are there things we might be able to help?
Not sure if it’s just luck but after setting the coherent.exe file to open with Guild wars 2 my tp has loaded 4/6 times, 1 crash so far. You do that from right clicking and then ‘get info’, set the file to be opened by Guild wars 2.
The tp worked nearly every time for hrs then a new build came, back to crashing again….
I’ve been able to access the trading post exactly once since my original post. I wanted to get on the gem store to purchase some of the offers that have been available for just a single day, but so far I haven’t gotten a single one.
Deleting the /bin does nothing anymore; the TP is back to the endless loading screen and crashing when I try to close the window.
Sorry to hear that I’d assumed your tp was working as I haven’t seen many post tp problems over the last week. It really was working well hours before the latest patch, what a pity. Yes whatever fix I try that has success stops working days afterwards, feels like a conspiracy to me.
Stubborn as I am I’ve tried some other methods, currently when I have no browser active not only does the tp load and quickly but the game itself seems to run better. We’ll see if it holds.

my game freezes when i close the TP and when i force quit it GW2 can’t be opened again until i completely restart my computer lol this is irking me though i know Anet are working on a fix it just gets old at times.
