Q:

Hi,

I wake up today morning and try to start the game. After I download and install new patch, log into game and choose character. Im getting BSOD after 10 sec in game. Last time I played game was at friday and everything was alright. Nothing was installed to my PC from the friday, only thing which was installed was that patch.

BCCODE : 116

Any ideas?

Thanks.

BCCODE 116 usually refers to graphics card driver problems. I would uninstall/reinstall your drivers.

Already tested. And as i said the BSOD came after hotfix came out, its ok at other games. Only GW2 still crashing.

I tried – Load restore point
Reinstall driver ( with driver sweeper at safe mode )
Clean installation of Windows
New installation of GW2
Play other games like Dishonored, Diablo 3, ETQW ( everything working )

Have you tried going back to an older driver version?

Starting with Windows Vista, and is part of 7 and8; the Kernel has several layers of protection. Applications cannot have direct access to hardware resources. The chances of the application itself causing the Bluescreen is HIGHLY unlikely. But that is not to say an error exists somewhere in Windows/Drivers/elsewhere that GW2 is hitting and causing the issue.

ntkrnlpa is part of the Windows Kernel and the problem probably is more related to the “Unknown Module”.

BSOD’s by the very definition is a fault in the system itself and not with the game. Since the 4670 is an old low spec graphics card and is no longer supported by new driver updates you would need to download the most recent AMD beta legacy driver and replace your current AMD graphics driver package.

For a BSOD, supply the Stop Code and the affected system file. From there we can then tell you what exactly (or almost) caused the BSOD and how to fix it.

“Unknown Module” usually means a virus or some type of malware is running (that’s why it’s “unknown”).

Id start with TDSSKiller and make sure your not running a root kit. As they tend to mask as drivers.
