BSOD problems? Solution that worked for me!
Sounds more likely that that particular stick of RAM is simply faulty. I suggest you take out the RAM stick that the game is working with, and put back in the one you took out and run a program called Memtest for at least a few hours.
If it reports any errors, you should request a new stick from the retailer, or RMA it with the manufacturer.

Just curious, did you actually check and see any of GW2’s processes eat more RAM? Did you run memtest on the sticks to make sure they are fully functional and not faulty? I had a similar experience with BSODs in GW2, but it was a result of a bad stick of RAM that never showed itself until playing GW2. To make sure it’s a good stick, I would run memtest on the stick and let it be the only stick in your system while playing GW2.

@ Pandem: Well i tested this theory with both my sticks and worked fine seperate, but together is when i would start getting my errors and BSOD’s
@llithis Mithilander: Yes during time in-game i would minimize and check to see how much process memory GW2 was taking up.(There are times it would go over 1mil K’s which I thought was extremely shocking, which shortly after I would experience the crash) And so obviously my RAM would skyrocket going from 30% to to the high 90%. Which I dont completely understand because with 8GB of ram it would automatically run 4GB when playing the game, and with only 4GB of RAM is runs about 1.5GB.

Your system shouldnt start BSOD’ing simply due to having more RAM, its ether a bad RAM stick or a problem with ur motherboard.

I’ve tested the ram, and well I didnt run any kind of tests on the motherboard but i do know it can support 8Gb ram but has a problem running GW2 when i have 8GB. So i guess its possible my motherboard is’t reacting properly while using 8GB in general, but I only encountered issues while playing GW2 like I said before.

I don’t remember Its been about a week since I last saw my computer BSOD.
Seems its just unstable ram. Bios upg can help (like in my case) or messing with volts, timings. Gw2 is picky about ram. It gives alot of dumb errors. From last patch im having either freezes or bluescreens and rests from taking screenshots….. i just hope they wont FIX more things;p
i used to get black screens with my old gfx card, so i bought a new one… now im getting bsod… i also have 8GB RAM
Most likely you aren’t using matched pairs of RAM or the timings are different between the two.
Sometimes BIOS will incorrectly detect memory timings and you have to set them manually. If the newer RAM is a different brand or has different timings that’s probably what is happening.
Older DDR memory was a bit more flexible in that you could often mix and match RAM. DDR2 and DDR3 are not – RAM sticks need to be closely matched to be stable.
