Bad computer need upgrades
So is anyone here to help?
Ive browsed around a bit more and I found this video card: http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-100292DDR3L/dp/B004N3BH0C/ref=pd_cp_e_2
It is much cheaper then thee one is previously wanted, but I want to know if they are both powerful enough to run the game on medium with decent fps.
Is anyone around?
Oh and if anyone is wondering, here is a link to the specs about my computer: http://support.dell.com/support/ed […] /cs_en.pdf
Slow down there buddy. Those are some pretty old graphics cards and I’d have to gander that they won’t be able to pull medium settings. What resolution do you intend to run GW2 at?
I would recommend a GTX 650Ti as a minimum for GW2. This will net you slightly above medium settings. Alternatively you could get an AMD 7770 and should be able to pull the same settings.
I would recommend at least a 550W power supply, but you may be able to slide by on a 450W.

its likely that what ever dual core cpu u have will bottleneck any gpu upgrade. What gpu do u have atm ?

Oh… Do you have any suggestions for a video card under $80 for me to run Guild Wars 2 on medium?
Its an integrated GPU, so it sucks.
What do you guys think about this video card:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161403&nm_mc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r&cm_mmc=OTC-pr1c3grabb3r-_-Video+Cards-_-Hightech+Information+System+Ltd.-_-14161403
Is it better and can it run?
NVM the same video card as above but this PSU: http://www.amazon.com/Logisys-PS550A-BK-Black-Computer-Supply/dp/B000JZ4U5C/ref=sr_1_20?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1361468608&sr=1-20&keywords=550w+PSU
Will they fit in my computer and will it be able to run guild Wars 2 on low settings decently? I just want to play lol.
Ok does anyone have any recommendations for a video card that doesnt require me to change my PSU and can run Guild Wars 2 on lowest setting?
Is anyone here???????????
Is the forums dead?
hd 7750 is highlly recomended for GW2 it will support high settings at 30+FPS any 450 PSU will be enough for it. May be the current dell Power supply will support this card, it does not require any aditional power than the PCIe lane itself. IF ur dell has a 450w power supply allready, order the card and test it on it. I see that dell pc had support for the hd 6450 so most likelly it will support the hd7750 right out the box since the consume the same wattage.

happy gaming

I see. Yes a dedicated low end card will be better than ur onboard one.
The 7750, 7770, and 650ti are al lgodo cards that should handle medium settings ..above those however ur gunan need a new rig as eve nwiht those card ur likely to hit ur CPU bottleneck in places.
BTW: Forum isnt dead, u just cant expect replies instantly, this isnt MSN or some such lol.

How much ram?
What’s your processor?

This hahahhahaha
His CPU is a sandy at least i think CPU wise it ill be fine paired with a hd 7750, those pentiums are decent for GW2 sice it dosn’t really use 4 cores anyay. Their performmance is comparable with old phemonII quad at 3.2 or something like that pretty good for a pentium chip, it will run the game just fine may be not in WvW but only about 3% of GW2 population plays WvW anyway, no big deal.
(edited by Rampage.7145)
only about 3% of the people who play the game can get more then a slide show in WvWvW.

note this is the ddr5 version, DO NOT GET A DDR3 VERSION they are CRAP!!!!!!
your system should be fine with a 7750, anything higher and you need a decent psu(avoid logisis they are crap)
if you wana go psu+videocard, get a 7770 and minimum of this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/compucase-power-supply-hp585d
and yes, HEC is a decent brand, they are not fancy or flashy at all, they are reliable though.
one shop I worked at part time for years used nothing but HEC on their mid and low end builds, even some of their high end depending on what the client wanted…..returns where lower then another shop i worked at that use mostly antec(infact we switched to FSP/spakle because antec had higher returns and costed more…lol)
this card at newegg is 89.99 after MIR.

the 2nd option would be better overall, but the first would be cheaper.

LOL where did this % come from.
78% of all figures online are pulled out from peoples a*ses :P
sry i couldnt help myself.

LOL where did this % come from.
read what rampage said, then what i said, he said that only about 3% of players do wvwvw, and i said that only about 3% of players can runthe game in WvWvW without a slide show….
this was half in jest, but a bit more the half serious, i mean, look how poorly the game runs for most people with high end systems, most people would try WvWvW and just blame their system and think “this games to new for my system” despite the fact its only dx9……(part of the problem) most people have no idea they just know, the game is “new” so that must explain why it runs like horse hockey on their system.
those of us who have been long time gamers and pc enthusiasts know that, infact, is horse hockey itself, because honestly, every other game i throw at my system, runs wondefully, even planetside2 a game that even sony admits needs alot of work…..ps2 is well known to be cpu bound, its also know to be hard on gpu’s, and it runs WONDERFULLY for me, even in big heated battles its smooth…..
TeraOnline, another cpu bound game runs wonderfully for me, and it scales far better to worse systems my buddy on a first gen c2q with a 5770 can play at 1080p mid settings just fine, gw2 he cant do DE’s or LA let alone WvWvW without it becoming a 15fps or worse slide show……
he LOVE gw2 but, after seeing how much better it runs, and how well rifts runs, compared to gw2….hes kinda sad he bought gems(the game was a gift from his kid)
either way, It was a joke of sorts….call it ironic humor.

How about a geforce gt 430? will that be optimal for MINIMAL settings and run about 30 fps on my computer.
the 430 is what we call a crap card, its for media centres and productivity systems not gaming, not even casual gaming really….
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HD-567X-ZNF3-FB-R&cat=VCD
thats as low as you can go and still get a card that can game sort of….
anything with ddr3 is not for gaming
anything with less then ddr5 is not for gaming by todays standards….
you can find 4870×2 cards on ebay for 60bucks…but that would need a beefy psu i doubt you have…..so if your must cheap out, get the card i linked.

So if I buy the card you linked, I can play Guild Wars 2 on LOWEST SETTINGS POSSIBLE at about 30 fps with that?
Oh and will that card fit in my computer?
Don’t bother, get the hd7750, i warranty it will work with ur computer right out of the box, it dosn’t need a power supply, just open the case plug it in, install the drivers and play GW in high settings. Dont listen to ppls trying to make u buy other stuff u don’t need, the hd7750 alone is all u need to play gw2, ur CPU is good enough, ur PSU will support it since it supports a hd6450, pretty much just order it at newegg and enjoy the game.
It can be found as low as 80$, pretty decent card for the money

Cheap, fast, enery efficient, 2012 generation, all u need. That is a video proving the hd7750 will run gw2 on high without any trouble.

Trust me man i build computers since i was 8yo back in 1992, i have owned at least 20 PCs and build probably arround 1000… i know what i’m talking about.
(edited by Rampage.7145)
Rampage, look at the crap hes been linking, i doubt hes gonna spring for that.
and you will get 30fps in pve, DE’s and WvWvW you will get less, but thats mostly down to cpu, you need a much better cpu to deal with lots of people on the screen at once.
PCP&C 1200watt TC, Crosshair V F-Z, Sapphire 290x
In PVE at medium setting u can play at 60 FPS using a sandy dualcore i saw it with own eyes. Also for WvW isn’t all bad arround 15/20 FPS worst case scenario, GW2 max out the intel dualcore utilize it at it’s full potential unlike quad CPUs i saw the little g620 chip arround 95% usage, paired with the hd7750, at high settings, shadows and reflections diisabled he should be over 45 FPS 95% of the time which is very cost efective for a 60$ CPU paired with a 80$ CPU, at least for GW2 it is, not saying is the best for general gaming just in this particular game.
I can get the Radeon HD 7750 as it wont bottleneck, but i’m more concerned about it fitting in my PC, as the dell inspiron 560 uses a mini tower, which might not fit it.
It is a very small card it will fit in virtually any Mini/mid/full tower case, only won’t fit on “slim” form factor cases
