Doubt you’ll get the name back since ANet seems to be aware of this word, Heck this is the first time I’ve read that word :O
I think certain other names that are short for ‘William’ are not allowed, but I am surprised at this name, never would have thought your name would mean what the Urban Dictionary link is saying. I certainly wouldn’t have reported the name if I saw it in-game (and I’ve reported quite a lot over the past three years!) but I suppose it depends on locality.
As JT said, take it up with CS, it doesn’t seem obviously graphic to me, but as I said, as it’s not common near where I live, I couldn’t comment if you will get a review or not. Good luck though.

Yea but here in the real world we don’t all use a random made up urbandictionary
Ive seen char names way way way worse that what the OP had, and they are still running about after being reported.

It’s also a proper name or are they also banning characters with the name (edit, original Robin’s first name) or Willie?
Yeah I would contact support and ask for a reversal. Provide real world examples of people with that name or some of the links I posted.
RIP City of Heroes

Yea but here in the real world we also use the name Di** which isn’t from some random made up urbandictionary and as far as I know it isn’t allowed in GW2 either, for obvious reasons. What I’m trying to say is that even if the name is something real, ANet will still ban it if it has an offensive meaning, I’m sure you get the picture.
Agreed on your second point though, I’ve seen a lot of real offensive names, some of them are made up of 2 words with the first letter flipped yet they still roam around.
A little piece of history regarding Urbandictionary:
A GW1 boss was named “Alana PekPek” for 3 years, It was then in 2008 that they changed the boss’s last name to “KepKep”. This is a small line from the GW1 wiki page: This boss was renamed in the 14th August 2008 update (its original name is considered offensive in Tagalog).
Urbandictionary lists this word just as offensive, It’s not exactly made up. Maybe you should think before posting such comments.
But the urbandictionary also contains slang that isn’t universally known or even acknowledged by many.
RIP City of Heroes
And to be fair you can add to it at will. Its not exactly a trusted source when you can type whatever you want in there and claim it fact. I mean just by typing in “Dinky” you get something lewd

Unless ANet explains why it is considered offensive we’re just playing the guessing game here. There are many names and words that mean different things in different languages.
EDIT: Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hailing Urbandictionary as a 100% accurate source but it’s not entirely wrong either. In this case I wouldn’t even think of considering such a name offensive.

If it’s in the Urban Dictionary it must be true. (not really, but arguing about it to Support won’t gain you anything). Maybe you can change it to Dilion? Check to see if that name is available and if it is, ask them if that’s ok.
ANet may give it to you.
Isnt urbandictionary like a wiki where everyone can post definitions for anything they like? So people can make up anything they want and ruin perfectly valid words and names.

That’s nothing…. I’ll just leave this here

I emailed anet and after a few messages managed to get Díllion back they said her name does not break any of there polices =)
Well, congrats. I admit to being surprised that that name was banned. I tried to google it and didn’t come up with any definition like it besides the questionable Urban Dictionary one. I’m glad they reversed the decision for you.
ANet may give it to you.
