Barf rainbows while playing gw2
You may want to start with a check up of the internal bits. Verify that each piece is inserted or connected firmly and completely. (vid card, ram, etc) next, double-check the drivers for your vid card, make sure you have the newest drivers, maybe uninstall and re-install them.
I’m sure others will have thoughts too, but try starting with those.

done and done. I wasn’t using the newest drivers since i read in some places they were causing problems with gw2, but ill try the newest again. But everything is firmly in.
You could always rollback after, right?
Let me know how you go.

well, played a good bit, nothing happened yet since updated driver
Awesome, try it a day or so and let me know how you go!
welp, the problems are coming back once more. It only seems to happen the most with gw2
Same problems specifically?
yep, game froze, everything went multicolored and blocky, then computer just froze. I can play metro: last light, LoL on max, and others, but gw2 crashes
Have you checked your CPU & GPU temps? Test them while your system has been idle for 10-15 minutes, then test them after playing the game 10-15 minutes (before crashing). Post both sets.
55 celcius GPU temp after gaming, bout 40 idle.
bout 60 celcius CPU, bout 40 idle as well
Have you completely installed all of the windows updates, even the optional ones?
yep
also, it did just start for LoL, bad colors, but then it went black, and rebooted
ok, now crashed like gw2 did

Im having the same exact issue and I know for sure its not my computer since its just been returned from having it checked. I can play other games just fine. But gw2 gives me rainbows across the screen and randomly closes sometimes. Sometimes i can play for hours and sometimes its 10 minutes.
Serophous, I’m not sure what to do then… This doesn’t seem to be gw2 causing the issue. If windows is 100% up to date, direct x is too, drivers are current, you’ve set the amd control panel properly, repaired the client, deleted your local.dat, temps are good… My last suggestion would be to open the computer and make sure your vid card is securely in its slot, then try to run a system diagnostic to verify you don’t have a bad piece of hardware. Also, check your system crash logs, sometimes hey could give insights to these issues.
But considering it’s occurring elsewhere and causing issues outside the client, it’s very well possible this could faulty hardware. I’m sorry I couldn’t help you
Atreoo (how’s falcor ;p), seriously though, try starting with the steps listed above and see if anything helps. Post back if it does, if not, file a ticket and post what fix they offer you. Oh, and always list your system specs if you want help with an issue, it helps others to know what they’re dealing with so they can better help you.
Just a wild guess, but maybe the screen cable isn’t plugged in correctly, or damaged.

I have played this game since early release and beta and never had any problems until the June 4th patch. I have temp controls and readout on everything. All drivers updated. I reseated almost everything on my board before I took it to my buddys shop. Changed hdmi cords also thinking that it may be a bad cord. I followed the steps they put up and no luck. I can play other games (LOL,PS2,Tribes,warframe) On high and no problems. PS Falcors Fine hehe.

I also installed and ran these tests on my gpu and all tests were fine.
Atreoo, try deleting the local.dat file. It’s located in my documents/guild wars 2. Serophous, you can attempt this too, but seeing as you have issues outside of gw2, I don’t know how much this will help.

Just an update on the situation. I had a friend whi has built computers before help, and after using my old card, found that yes, it was indeed the video card itself. So sending back since still under warrenty.
But thanks all for helping at least.
Glad you found your problem! Hopefully, your next one will be perfect! Good luck!
I played this morning for about a hour and a half with no problems at all. Logged on after work about 10 hrs later and after about 5 minutes the game restarted and when I tried to
restart its trying to repair all the sudden but it just never responds and starts. It also repaired last night after a restart. I have already removed the game and done a complete install on monday.
PS I did delete the local dat file that was mentioned.
Just out of curiosity, you’re not running a “repair” shortcut to launch your game, are you? That’s the only reason I could think of it to keep repairing
Either way, let me know how you go.
Nope im just clicking on my regular shortcut that was made during install. The funny thing is that once it dont respond Ill restart my comp and it loads up just fine. I can then play for a hour or 2 like I did last night after I posted that stuff.
That’s an odd one, I’m not sure really. If this behaviour continues, try submitting a ticket.
Its ghost in the machine im sure.
