Guild Wars 2

Hi all,

I’m planning to get myself a new computer, I currently have windows 7 and my new computer will have windows 8. Was is the best way to install guildwars again? Because I imagine it takes extreemly long to download all updates since the start of the game when I just reinstall it from the dvd.

Is it possible to just make a back-up of my current install (Like C:\Program Files\gw2) and then just paste that on my new system?

Or isn’t that possible because my new system has Windows 8 and I plan to put it on ssd?

I think you should be able to just copy it all over without having to reinstall.

Yeah I just copied the files over from my previous build (gw2.dat & gw2.exe), worked like a charm. Had to redo my gfx settings though, not that it matters.

All the config, screenshots and what nots are in Documents\Guild Wars 2 if you want to save your config.

i have windows 8 and i installed it without problems! the game doesnt take very long t update either, around 30 minutes depending on your connection speed, you ll be just fine, no need to copy it from your old system!

Corraid I am not afraid it will deliver problems, it just takes over 15gb of downloading time. Which for me is probably like 8 hours or so!
