Do the character names used in beta demo get purged so we can use them again or is that forever taken? If not I have learned a valuable lesson here haha.
Just searched some past posts and they say to wait 1-24hrs, but if anyone wants to chime in please do so.
I’ve been reading past posts about this problem when HoT came out and it was fixed by someone on Anet by the name of Susan, so I am hoping the same thing will happen here. Will be waiting for someone on Anet to give some input, but if they can fix this like they did from HoT beta I will be happy.
When the first PoF demo ended the name I used was not available again until 4 days later. I checked every day. Normally names are reserved for the account holder for 24 hours after character deletion. Under normal circumstances if you delete a character that name is immediately available to you to use again and secured to your account for 24 hours. You don’t have to wait any amount of time to use the name again. My guess based on what happened last week is Anet has not completely deleted those demo characters yet which would allow the account holder to use the name again.

Ahh. I only made my char on the 2nd beta. I’m guessing we just have to wait until they delete all the beta characters for whenever that happens. I’m not in any rush but I will have to remember what my character looked like hehe. Ty for the info too!
If it is a name you really want and are afraid someone else might take it you should probably check every day so as not to let the 24 hour reservation expire.
