I’m going to try that later, hopefully it reduces the noise; cause its a bit annoying when your playing in a library and the fans go on MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE WHOOOSH!
so i need to turn the fans up in my iMac to keep the Cpu from getting over 135* while i’m playing.

The Cider wrapper causes 100% fan speed regardless of what you’re running. I ran this on my quad core Mac Pro, and the fans went up to 100% as soon as I launched the game. Checked the processor temps; not one was over 140F. Something about the emulation wrapper really wreaks havoc on the system’s priorities.
That said, YES! YOU DO NEED TO COOL YOUR MACBOOK! :P Macbooks are made of metal, so in essence, the entire bottom-case is a heatsink. But on that same page, you have to make sure it can breathe since you can’t keep cool if your machine is parked firmly on a bunch of insulating material (like cloth or your legs).
I don’t recommend keyboard covers either, since a lot of intake for the fans go under the keys and in through the ports on the left side of the machine.

Using a macbook rain design stand really helps along with smcFanControl turned up 6200rpm. The game runs quite well. Never really a slowdown with most setting at medium.

I use a laptop cooler[link below], works great!

This is what I use. Best laptop cooling pad I’ve ever used ever.
(The fan is the size of my head.)

I actually use Magician. It has a bunch of cool little features, and some really useless and dumb ones. But one of them is a direct fan control of the HDD and the CPU and GPU. problem is I don’t know what the ODD fan is for. But you crank your up too 6200? is that for the cpu? i put mine at 1800, because 2000 seemed a bit excessive, then again i have absolutely nothing to base this off of. In put and tips are always welcome.

2000rpm is actually on the lower end of the spectrum as far as mac fan speeds go. That’s 1/3 of what the fans were designed to do. Max is 6000rpm, and that makes for some excellent cooling.

I would also suggest a cooling mat (preferably with fans). This draws a lot of the heat out, and not only boosts performance but also your computer’s lifespan.
Macbook Pro are not design to be under full load. This issue is an Apple design flaw. Luckly, most people will not run into this issues because majority of apple user dont need the speed
Note: Full load is 100% percent gpu and cpu.
Put a frame limiter and that might save your macbook
Running SMC Fan control has boosted my performance while playing
