Guild Wars 2

As I was growing tired of Warcraft and stoked to learn of GW2 as a pleasant alternative, imagine my disappointment upon entering the Norn start point only to have these graphic issues:

1. purple-ish something or other…can’t even begin to describe
2. random fuzzy black squares
3. odd “picket fence” like images that appear and disappear

Not wanting to appear or sound “noobish”, I’m not entirely sure how or where to start diagnosing these problems….are they a hardware/software issue or a game bug? Has anyone else had these problems? Or can someone point me in the right direction for troubleshooting?

I’ll be optimistic and say it’s a software problem and hopefully just old drivers or DirectX. Can you post a dxdiag report of your system?

There might also be some windows settings that are conflicting with the game settings and causing some issues. For this, you should check your Windows graphics settings and make sure that any options are set to “Application Controlled.”

Other than that, you definitely need to list your hardware so that people can start making more educated guesses at the problem.
