Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!
I’m reposting my issue with the TP from a thread I made a couple weeks back. I hope that’s not a problem. My laptop is currently getting fixed so I can’t really try to resolve the issue atm. Just letting you guys know the issue exists for MAC users. Here is the repost:
Before the new iteration of the TP I needed several tries to get the TP to open. (endless spinning wheel)
After the new TP got implemented I still had and have the endless spinning wheel. While I used to be able to reopen it a few times (before the new TP) to get it working, nowadays (after the new TP patch), 90% of the time, the wheel keeps spinning until I try to exit the tp but then the game freezes. It is often accompanied with my screen getting darker (more saturated?) when I know i’ll be getting the freeze.
The only way to ‘fix’ it is to manually shut down my laptop (this is, logically, the most annoying part :p).
Nowadays I only try to use the TP if I’m up for the freeze/reboot, but it’s mostly RNG and it’s not in my favor.
My specs:
Yosemite 10.10.1
Macbook pro 13 Inch (medio 2012)
2,5 GHz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
As a simple test, verify that you can view https://tradingpost-dfw-live.ncplatform.net/humans.txt and https://services.staticwars.com/humans.txt. This will help determine if it’s a network or software problem. Verify that the security certificate on these pages do not have any problems.
If those could be accessed, open a command prompt (cmd.exe) as an administrator and enter the following commands, then reboot:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
Doing this will reset Winsock and TCP/IP back to their original states. Programs can hook into these and cause problems.
Note that simply disabling security software isn’t always enough. Some will continue to function regardless, for example, to prevent you from accessing malicious URLs, so you will actually need to add an exception for Gw2/CoherentUI or uninstall it entirely. In general though, you want to disable sandboxing, HIPS and anything involving application execution prevention.
For more advanced debugging, install and run Fiddler to monitor what exactly the trading post is requesting and receiving.
Delete local.dat file:
Adding on to this, you want to delete both %appdata%/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat and Documents/Guild Wars 2/Local.dat. The one found under the documents folder is an alternate location created after some updates and it overrides the other one.
Reset IE Settings:
For this, you will want to take note of step 5 (LAN Settings). Uncheck all options and click OK back to Internet Explorer. Open the Internet Options again back to LAN Settings and verify that everything is still unchecked. Some proxy software or viruses will force these settings.
Yesterday, I tried using the VPN (one of the open), and it works.
I’ve tested this too.
I’ve used free VPN service http://www.vpnbook.com/ and OpenVPN software http://openvpn.net/
I’ve tested it at free Euro server euro217 via TCP port 80
And Black Lion has been working! After disabling VPN and restarting the game Black Lion still working, but for how long? Also there is errors already here: no background at the buy/sell popup window...
Update: computer and router was restarted and Black Lion service (all features) is still working
Update 2: now, just only after going to character selection screen and back to game Black Lion stopped worked again

I’m experiencing a related problem. Everytime I open the trading post I get the error message “Net::ERR_ABORTED” and when I click OK the trading post is just blank. I haven’t found the same case anywhere on the internet so its either caused by the update or its unique. Any help would be appreciated.
