Guild Wars 2

Alright so, I don’t know if this is in the right section, but ima go ahead and try anyway!

alright, so I brought the game, and when I started it after the install and download had finished, it just went onto a black screen, and it wouldn’t play anything. I couldn’t hear any music, which I’ve heard people that have this problem can, and I CAN see the mouse.

People have also said it could be a program that starts when you run GW2, but I’ve looked on task manager when it’s been on the black screen and there’s nothing with the name they’ve given (Gigabyte OC Guru).

Anyone know what the problem is..?

• Try steps in Part 7.3

Alright, Done all of that, updated all of my Graphics drivers, Installed DirectX 9 (the one recommended) and it’s still just black screening with no music, nothing, just sitting there. I have also deleted gw2.tmp and nothing.

any other suggestions? or will i need a new graphics card..?

You didn’t provide any system information or attached game advisor log, so can’t say much more. (See Part 1.2)

Follow the steps in Part 7.3, and if it doesn’t work then read through the provided thread link regarding the issue.

I edited the main post to add a gameadvisor log, i read it but didn’t understand it, hope you can find the problem from it! if you need more info just say!

• You said you updated the graphics drivers, but I still see old drivers installed from 4/15/2011 ver 8.15.10.2372.

• Latest version is at 10/23/2012 ver 9.17.10.2875 (See Part 1.1 and update)

They’re 100% updated now, I saw the one that was still outdated, and still GW2 has the black screen problem, I also talked to a friend of mine that plays and he says that it might not be the graphics card, because I can run games like SWTOR, WoW, LoL, etc all perfectly with no lagg what-so-ever.
