Guild Wars 2

When i click “play” in the launcher i get just black screen with no music with the cursor being in a form of a pointing hand (the same form u have when it’s over the play button). Updated the drivers, run some tests and nothing changed.. I was able to play it the day before.. never had a problem like this for the 3 years i’ve played.
Any solutions?

P.S happen only with GW2 , i don’t think it’s GPU problem since i can play other games without a problem.

I’m having pretty much the same issue.
haven’t played in months so i had to patch things first, then when i tried loading up the character selection screen it already was a unusually slow and glitchy loading things up but after a short wait i finally got to see my characters just as usual so i picked one and hit play.
Everything fine there, loading screen , ok done, ingame. Everything loads up fine and i get some new messages about the update, sound is there etc, i see people move, take a few steps myself but then about 2-3 seconds later, BAM, freeze! followed up by an immediate black screen and crash of my whole PC.

After rebooting my PC windows reported several GPU errors , i cannot find a solution however as my GPU itself seems perfectly fine and no other game has or had any compability issues up to this point with it, this new update is the first time i had such an issue.

OS: Vista SP2
GPU: AMD 7850 with CCC version 13.4 /driver 12.1 (latest for vista)

I’ve deleted the Local.dat file in documents directory and started the game, it fixed the problem, try it mate
