Today I tried to play some GW2 after a small update but after clicking play on the launcher screen my pc froze and the game gave me a blackscreen I could still hear the background music. Only restarting my pc with the button worked. anyone got a solution for this?

1. Have you updated your graphics driver lately? If not, please do that right away.

2. Next time that happens, try Ctrl+Alt+Del, then kill the gw2.exe task. No need to reboot your system.

3. If the issue persists after you updated your drivers, check for overheating issues with your hardware.

Did you just install the new windows 10 update. Had this with firefox after, may be a conflict with graphics cards.

This happens to me too every now and then. I have no idea what causes it. I always keep my graphics drivers updated and I haven’t noticed any overheating. Also Ctrl+Alt+Del won’t work. I have tried, but gw2 just won’t close.

Might be your firewall awaiting confirmation about Gw2.exe (or Gw2-64.exe) — have you granted full internet access to this application?

You did not provide any information about your system specs. In any case, I recommend contacting support, they certainly have answers for Windows 10 users as well (which I don’t as I do not use Windows 10).
