Hi there. I am not entirely sure if this is the right section to post a top but I’ll bite.

So essentially I bought the "Guild Trident’ Exotic item for 7 commendations + 3 gold by accident when I wanted to buy the “Guild Harpoon” on my warrior instead.

I know this is silly but it is an honest mistake as I am so used to Spear’s and Tridents since my main is a necromancer. Is there any way to get a refund or at least replace the trident with the harpoon instead?

Well, you can always take a shot at it with support.
But this is considered an user error and they don’t usually correct those mistakes (as it would mean they will have to do it for everyone)

Hmm I see. Well according to their support, its said to either take it up in the forums or post it as a bug. Since neither of which can help, it seems obvious that Anet may not be able to help, especially when I am not sure which forum section to post this in.

Suggestions would be my best bet as the correct forum. However, I warn you, don’t expect a lot of sympathy. Most people are going to tell you to be more careful next time.

Just set it out as a suggestion, that a buy back feature is needed for commendations. It will probably drop off the forum front page fairly quickly but at least you can ask.

I happen to agree with you, it’s needed for both commendations and laurels as making a mistake here is punishing.

I don’t think 3 gold and 7 gc are worth causing such an action, even if GW2 support would do things like that. As Astral Projections wrote, you should be more careful next time.

I like the idea of that “buy back feature”, but I doubt we’ll see it in the near future.
