so my brothers ingame is FingerFlick.4382.he got some emails telling him to verify a loggin and shotly after was banned under the false accusation of gold farming,he only had 5 gold on his account,he made a ticket and the response is that his account is terminated,so the qustion is arena net really going to punish their player base for their poor security? as i recall email verification was not available at launch so thats a great window for hackers,im trying my best to stay calm but this is BS.
someone bought your game and gets hacked through your security and the customer is to blame? so im asking for someone to look into his case and possibly reopen it,hes lost hope for arena net,he wont even try and post on the forums because he has become hopeless,can you rally blame him? i want nothing more then to play the game with my brother,please look into this,please help me and my brother out.

It would help everyone if you open a ticket for your broter and provide your ticketnumber in your original post.
Hacked accounts do have top priority inside ANet to let customers back in. Be sure to provide all the information in your ticket, and head to the Unresolved/hacked account in the Accounts forum. There you would surely get information from someone at ANet.

He fell for phising emails, those were fake emails sent by hackers to get access to his account. After gaining access hackers used his account to farm gold or promote their website which in turn got your brother banned. He should contact costumer support and be more careful next time.

ANet nor any other company for that matter WILL NEVER ASK YOU VERIFY YOUR LOG IN DETAILS. The only thing they will ask you to verify is your email address and to do that you only have to press link in your email. Once link is pressed it WILL NEVER ASK FOR LOG IN DETAILS. If it does, something’s wrong and you should double check address.

the problem is he did not verify any logg in info or go to any sites,hes smarter then that,the email im referring to is the notification that someone tried to logg in form a different location,and he did conctact customer support and they said that hes account has been terminated.

This means he used same email address and password on some fansite or used very common password. Hackers only need your email, later they run it systematically against something like 5 000 or so most common passwords and in your brothers case, his passwords wasn’t unique enough.

or they could have used other methods to access the info while there was no email verification system in place during launch,unique passwords or different emails do not help if they can get the info relatively easily,its not always an issue with your info,it can sometimes be just a fact of having weak security,im not trying to start some argument im just looking for help from the team at arena net as so far they did not help my brother,look at how many cases there are right now with these problems,it might be low compared to other mmos but it is still a serious issue and having someone you know have this happin to them is not a easy thing to just look over and say"well maybe your password was not unique enough,maybe you should have been smarter and more carefull"

So he contacted support and they told him they would not restore the account?

yes,they told him they terminated his account…guess he did not win the seemingly random lottery that they use to dertermine who they help and who they say"the doors that way",look i may come off as ankitten but some poeple get replies from the team and then they get their accounts back just like that,it does make me angry that my brother has been misstreated in this way and all im looking to do is find someone that can help him.

Be careful they may lock your thread as they just did to mine asking about getting a refund. they dont like the “tone” of what we say now. Ironic since I was suspended for “inappropriate langauge” which I STILL WOULD LIKE YOU KNOW what was said so 1/ I can warn friends what might get them banned and 2/ SO I dont do it again in the future. Not that it will be on ANY ncsoft or Anet game. I am quite happy for whatever was typed by myself which is considered inappropriate language to be posted on here if it gets my issue solved quicker than the massively backedup ticket system. Please show me my error!

Well you did call them out and directly and insult them. If your in game behavior is anything like your forum posting, then yes you got suspended for directly insulting people. There is a difference between saying “This $%^& dynamic event is too hard”, and “You guys $%^& suck at this dynamic event”. One is comment on the frustrating situation the other is venting your frustration on others. The former is acceptable to Arena Net when not abused, the latter is not. There are also other comments that regardless of target will likely get you a suspension (such as racial, sexist, or homophobic slurs) This isn’t League of Legends, we don’t insult other players here or call them “sodding idiots” regardless of skill. We help them play better. I don’t know the circumstances of your suspension, but you can open a support ticket to find out until they improve their suspension notifications, something they are working on.

I have not once abused anybody in game but have directly and been victim of it MANY times yet these people have been online everyday since launch. I want the log sent to my email. The support ticket is useless when the suspension will be over about a week before theyve even read the ticket. I have stated the TRUTH and said what many others on this forum have said. Who have I insulted on this forum? and Anet ARE proven to show incompetence, look at this forum for proof! Yeah half the people may be botters are are just venting but all those poor souls with hacked accounts and various others banned/suspended without justification like myself are the ones being kept out of the game. Im only too happy for them to post on here “as was said before” what this inappropriate language actually is. Ill be the first to apologise if Ive offended anybody in game by an off the wall remark, Id like to see what it was so me and my friends can learn from it and not do whatever it is again in /m. I find it incredible that people who blatanly shout and abuse people in /m on WvW are still playing when Im and many others are locked out thru no fault of their own.

Whats more increidble are the people who stick up for this behavour, this whole ticket situation is a disgrace and my small situation pales in comparison to whats happend to people wit hacked accounts and cc details. People have the right to complain, People have the right to vent their frustrations, ITS A FORUM. and calling anet “sodding idiots” is clearly not PC enough for some users. OMG will someone please think of the children!
