Hi all,
We’re aware that the buy.guildwars2.com website is currently broken, and will not allow someone to make a purchase. Believe me, we want you all to be able to make purchases!
We’ll get the site fixed as soon as possible. I just wanted to post that we are aware of the issue.

Still broken, but slightly different from 5 hours ago when I first tried.
At least put up notification on the page that we need not bother trying.
Guess my kid gets coal for Xmas this year.

Although I would like to take the opportunity to complain about the ridiculous amount of javascript spread across multiple sites on a page where you enter credit card details.
ArenaNet is not alone in this, but where did your web devs learn about security?

I have been trying to buy a code since about 6 PM EST yesterday, and unfortunately, this still does not work for me. Is there some trick to it? Does it blacklist credit cards that fail multiple times or some such secret feature?

I was able to purchase an account for myself; however, when my girlfriend got home we tried to purchase an account for her. After her card failed multiple times we called her bank, they didn’t see any failed or blocked activity – we gave up and I figured I’d just throw it on my card. That also failed now.
I want to give up my money Some Google searches turned up that it could be we got our IP banned or something along those lines. I don’t see a billing support number anywhere to call and take care of this; how should we best go about putting money into your hands in exchange for another digital deluxe copy of the game? Or is the store just down again?

I am in a very similar position to vance, I already bought a copy for myself and am still trying to buy a copy for a friend. However, another friend bought it on his own and got it just fine. So, it appears it has something to do with that “already bought one copy” part, which I assume tracks people based on IP, since I have tried multiple cards, browsers and emails. However, I also tried using my phone to buy this elusive second copy, with the same error. So, what? The website psychically knows who you are? Maybe it’s random and I’m just really unlucky…

This wasn’t working for me. Are you guys using Authenicate.Net or something. Apparently Amazon is/was having issues as well. Or does everyone just hate Wells Fargo cards (Which is why I’m in the predicament I’m in now)
You guy’s must really hate taking my money, Can’t purchase the game again, this happened last week too. Getting it as gifts but apparently you don’t approve!

If you have access to one, you might try purchasing through the web browser on a smartphone. Don’t select payment type (CC or PayPal) unless the purchase button at the bottom doesn’t light up; any time I selected CC, it would change the promo price back to full price, though I’ve read that once all fields are filled in, the price might return to the reduced sale price on the left – just double check.

I tried buying the game on Chrome for a friend using both my credit card and paypal, neither of which worked. I then used Internet Explorer to try and purchase the game using my credit card and everything worked fine.
Really great time of the year to be having purchasing difficulties, I bet the financial department is super thrilled, but at least for me it was still possible to purchase the game using a different browser.

For what it’s worth my ticket WAS addressed. However, they didn’t note in their response (which said they lifted my buying restriction for a 24 hour window) that I had to use the e-mail I sent the ticket from to make the purchase. Took us a little while to figure that out (we were trying to buy the game on her card / with her e-mail).
So I guess our IP and all our credit cards were restricted and, after contacting support, they white-listed my e-mail (but not the IP or cards). Just an FYI for everyone.

The site was back up within the hour, and I’m sorry that some of you are still having difficulties. Please do submit a ticket and then post your 12-digit number in your post in this thread. I’ve asked one of the good folks on our Payment Team to take a look, and I’m sure they will help you as soon as possible.

Myself and a friend have both tried to purchase an account for him so he can take advantage of the sale. Mind you, I was able to purchase with Paypal-no issues, choosing the USA version of the game (I’m from the USA), purchasing it with a USA registered Paypal, all of this despite the fact I am in Hong Kong (live and work here). Right now it’s impossible to purchase by any method, including him using his HK registered paypal and using HK as the country for the game. I submitted a ticket on this. Code I was given by the system was 121224-000929 (My question was basic, this post has a bit more detail).
Edit Times like this, being able to have a number to call would be nice.
