So, what does this mean? Tried to Purchase Gems, with Visa Debit, got this. (I did it three times over the period of an hour, so hopefully I won’t get triple charged.)

I’m still having this issue, ticket submitted yesterday, I’ll post back when they respond, maybe it’s an issue affecting a lot of accounts.

I guess the problem’s escalated, because I can’t even see any purchase options when I click on ‘buy gems’. Just a blank screen.

Finally bought a gem store card online, but I cannot redeem the code. :-(

I’ll also report it directly to tech support, here’s hoping it’ll get fixed soon…

I’ve getting the same, since yesterday. Paypal doesn’t work either.

I’m getting the same. I’m wondering if maybe the gem purchase system crashed…

I am having the same issue. However, I don’t even get as far as to see gem prices. I put in my country, and then wait to see if payment option pops up. If it does, I still can’t click next or I get the same little red error.

I am also going to be putting in a ticket, as it’s a shame when you want to give them your money, and they won’t take it lol.

You guys should also submit tickets if you haven’t. Apparently there was a buying restriction placed on my account, disallowing the game to actually make the transaction at all. Also, buy.guildwars2.com had some backend maint. So confirmation e-mails may take 5 Hours.

I had no idea they could block you completely from doing that. I submitted my ticket pretty early, and made a post on Facebook.

I’ve yet to hear anything at all about it. I am considering calling them.

It’s probably meant for people who have a lot of money on hand saved up and to stop them from obtaining tons of gold in a short amount of time, or gems, vice-versa. Some MMORPGs do it to disallow potental for pay2win aspects. And before this turns into such a topic, I’ll explain the two types of pay2win to get it out of the way:

Indirect pay2win – This is where the publisher allows real life money to be exchanged for in-game currency directly or the use of cash shop items to be traded for in-game coin. (See Neverwinter, GW2, etc.) Publishers attempt to curb this by changing amounts of the exchange themselves, or altering the exchanges directly via database, or change the amount of cash shop currency you get, or, like above, block the user from buying in the first place.

Direct pay2win – cash shop items have stats that give an edge in PVP / etc. (See Ragnarok Online 2, Browser MMORPGs, etc.)

Also having the same problem. Have tried over a couple different days. Logged a ticket, hope I’ll get a response.

I understand this thread is almost a month old but I’m currently experiencing the same issue atm, exact same thing happening in that picture provided.

Anyone know a fix/solution?

This has happened to me probably twice now. Before I just left it alone, came back after a day and it was back to normal so idk.
