Every gaming session I get atleast 2 black screens. I tried the stickied solution, my setting was already correct. I’m using a Nvidia GTX 560 with the latest beta drivers. This black screen has been happening since ~BWE 2. It doesn’t happen with ANYTHING else, just GW2. They just happen randomly. Dungeons, PvP, WvW, PvE, I’ve had it happen during everything, my screen just goes entirely black and sound cuts out, all sound except weapon switching, I can spam my weapon switch button and hear the change, but that’s it. I can alt+tab out and everything, and restarting fixes it, but it’s SO frustrating to be destroying a sPvP match, and then black screen error with no rejoin mechanic. Any ideas?
EDIT: I’d also like to note that everytime I ALt+Tab out and right click->exit gw2, I get a gw2 crash error. Doesn’t just exit.
EDIT ERROR:

Bump.
My son and I (Im on NVIDIA he is on RADEON) rarely go an hour without a black screen, we can still hear music and activate F11 and F12 this is getting to close to giving up stage now. Indeed Torchlight2 got its first airing yesterday. We lover our GW2 but being thrown out of WvW or an instance every 45 mins is pretty much intolerable. All other games work fine.

Guys I do believe this is resulted from ‘mostly’ because of NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service. Somehow stopping and disabling this service solved my problem. This may worth to try.
Right click to My Computer,
go to manage, and click services and applications,
then services,
find NVIDIA Stereoscopic 3D Driver Service,
double click it, stop it and set startup type to disable.
click apply and ok to exit and post results. I hope it works for most of you.

Downclock your graphics cards GPU by at least 80% it’s due to your GPU overheating, I had this problem for 4 weeks and a guild member showed me how to fix it. I haven’t crashed since.

Put card to stock settings if they aren’t. I don’t really have a lot of info to go on. I think the post above meant downclock TO 80% not by 80% To check for heat problems or instability if it’s OC’ed.
