COX ISP Connection Issue (STARTED TODAY)
I’ve been constantly refreshing the forums, hoping I wasn’t the only one experiencing this kind of issue.
I keep getting these error codes.
code=58:11:5:523:101
code=7:11:3:191:101
Reset my router, my computer, all sqaured away, except when I log into GW2. This is the first time this kind of issue has happened, and I’ve been playing since the beginning.
I been having the same issue, i can’t seem to stay online for more than 2-3 min then i keep getting disconnected error code – 7:11:3:191:101.
This started happening about an hour ago, I was fine before that with no issues.

Getting the same “code=7:11:3:191:101” every minute and I disconnect. Very annoying. Game is unplayable atm, it’s only for Guild Wars 2. Everything else is working fine.
Maguuma
(Insert other useless !@#$ here)
My game continually crashes to character select with that same error code every 30 seconds or so.
It has been doing this all morning
Same for me, been happening for the last 2 hours or so. I can get on for a few minutes at a time, but keep getting kicked after 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Hope this gets fixed before reset.
Exactly the same for me. None of my computer’s settings have changed since last night when I last logged into GW2, and now when I try, I get disconnected with an Err 7 repeatedly. And sometimes that Err 7 turns into an Err 58 and kicks me out of the client entirely.
Good to know I’m not alone though! Hopefully this will get fixed soon.
I am experiencing this as well. This started a few hours ago and it disconnects for every 5sec to 5minutes.
Whew, well it’s kind of good to know that I’m not the only one. This only started happening to me like a few hours ago. It’s even making my connection with GW1 dc. I have been fine since I started playing the game and just now this started happening.
This is really annoying I tried all fixes I find on the forums but yet one is to make it work for me.
Getting the same here for like the last hour getting codes 7:11:3:191:101 and 58:11:5:523:101 every few minutes in game definitely isn’t my connection since I can play other mmos fine still.
same here, everything but GW2 works, but alot of people i know are working fine. I get in for like 5seconds before it kicks me with the same error
I’m not technically sure if it’s related. But my GW1 is fine until I try and log-in to GW2. I will then get dc’d at the same time. Do they share the same servers or something?
EDIT: I can pretty much prove that GW2 causes my GW1 to dc when I try to log in. This is weird. It’s like GW2 is causing a network / internet issue upon attempt to connect.

Having the same issue here too. I get logged in for a moment and then it boots me out.

I know that Diablo 3 and WoW are also having major issues with anyone who uses Cox as their ISP, across the entire US.
I am not able to play GW2 or any Blizzard games without constant disconnects. I noticed a few people in the Blizzard forums also referencing issues with playing GW2.
Is everyone experiencing issues also using Cox as their internet provider?
Same here, loves. code=7:11:3:191:101 error after about 5 seconds of logging in, then sent back to character select. This has been for the past hour or so. My server really needs me in wvw right now ;~; or at least that’s what I choose to pretend.
I am from Virginia, and I have Cox. Is this an ISP side issue?
Unfortunately, I have cox as well, but it’s crazy that everything else is running fine. :/
Been happening for about 2 hours here, cannot stay connected for more than 2 minutes.
Never had a problem before.
That still doesn’t make any sense. Can we get some support reply on this thread please?
We all need explanation on how GW2 and Cox are not getting along. My GW1 is playing well as we speak no issues at all, when I do try to connect to GW2. I would get dc on both of them.
I can confirm on the cox statement.
I have cox ISP as well.
Did your connection error only started happening today?
I have Cox as my ISP as well. I started getting the DC issues today as well. Have never had a DC before until today. Everything else is working fine except GW2. Would be nice to get a Tech Support reply of some sort of them at least them saying they are looking into it…
As do I. Cox seems to be giving me a lot of issues lately.
As to the above question, yes. Most of us stated it’s only been going on for a few hours.
Yep, Cox cable here as well. What joy.
I don’t seem to be having the same issues with repeated disconnects in Neverwinter however.
Well that tells a lot if it’s with Cox, I thought it was just mine alone. I tried everything that I can dig up on google. Open ports / UPnP / firewall, cmd and all that yada. But no luck, if Guild Wars 1 is working fine, why is it messed up with GW2? Tech support pls halp!
I can also confirm I got cox as a ISP. And this problem did not happen until today. It was running fine up until this point.
Tried different solutions as of now, still no luck.
The issue is with Cox and the data center in Dallas, i ran a few test and sure enough i get massive packet loss and a connection drop.
I tested this on Battlepings server and everything worked for an hour straight with no lag or issues.
Anet please get on it, it’s annoying being DC every few min.
I thought so, my internet just shuts out on me when I try to log on GW2.

Hey all,
So we can look into this further I would like to ask anyone who is experiencing this issue to submit a ticket to Tech Support so they can start gathering everyone’s data and look into the cause of this.
Thanks,
Request #502316 “Connection issue. Immediate…”
Ticket requested.
I’m not alone. Yay! Please be fixed in 150 minutes so I can do the daily on reset.
I’ve submitted a ticket, Request: 502365.
I hope this gets resolved soon!
It’s not Cox persay, but rather Level3 causing the issues here.
My TraceRTs from Cox over to PlayNC.
The 4.69 Addresses are all Level3.
We will all need to call Cox support (Tier3) and get them to NOT route through Level3 to fix this issue.

Shouldn’t there be something that ANet can do on their end though? Because we all know how COX Customer Service is.. – . -
It’s not Cox persay, but rather Level3 causing the issues here.

Not sure how that will work because I get absolutely no help what so ever when I call them, im just going to have to hope that gw2 tech support can get the issue solved or I wont be able to play anymore I guess.
Unless Anet has a contract in place with Cox, there is NOTHING they can do to help us with this. We, the consumer’s, must call Cox support and escalate the issue up to their Tier2/Tier3 Support and show them the traceroutes from Them over to NCsoft’s servers. They will then see that Level3 Has an issue and at that point Cox’s Tier3 Support will be able to engage with level3 to fix the issue.
or if the issue cannot be resolved in a timely manner, Cox maybe able to route those destination packets away from level3 over to a different Link partner.
I’m at work and when I get home, if the issue Isn’t resolved by then, I will be calling them to do just that.

I would try to but I wouldn’t even know how to explain the situation with them. If I do call them I believe they would say it’s an issue with Guild Wars 2 if everything else is working fine. Other than that I wouldn’t want to take that the only solution to this is switching ISPs when I’ve never had this issue until today.

Let me be clear about this.
This is a backbone provider issue.
This is not a GW2 and Cox’s issue.
Cox has a SLA Contract with Level3. But Cox usually doesn’t actively monitor these main feeds.
So thats why we , the consumers, need to call their support lines and bring it to their attention. But in a mature professional manner. Threatening to drop Cox as an ISP is not going to get you anywhere.
Just call them, explain that you are having application connection issues and you narrowed it down to a internal routing issue with in the Cox network. Explain that you also have a few TraceRoute Examples you would like to submit to their TIER2 and TIER3 Support for Escalation.
At this point, if you get one of the Moron Techs, you need to speak with an escalation manager. And move the ticket up the chain.
from there, the Cox Tier2 tech can confirm your findings by doing a Source Trace from your Modem out to the NCSoft Servers and verify your findings. That should prompt him to auto escalate it up to services and repair for head to head NOC testing between Cox and Level3.
From that point its a waiting game for Cox to get the link fixed to Level3.

I managed to get into GW2 and my connection now does not seem to have any problems. I’m currently waiting for Tequatl when reset rolls around so we’ll see how it behaves then. Hopefully, it’s fixed now.
Same here. Apparently there was DDoS attack on Blizzard and people speculate that this could have affected Cox at some point? Idk but I’m logged in and currently no issue. Standing by to see how others are doing.
Seems fixed on my end. Had a few moments of connection loss while fighting Covington, but no d/c’s.
Appears to be fine for me to play now, have not had disconnect issues.
Here in AZ we have Cox also. Same issues.
Skjold Pjod TC!
I am “That” guy you have all heard about.

Cox is using Level3 to route traffic to GW2’s Servers. Level3 is being used as a transport for a massive DoS attack directed at Blizzard and some other big name companies. Probably due to the fact this is tech week up in Vegas (Interopt and other things going on).
This happens to make said companies look bad when they are trying to release new Products/tech to their customers. And DoS is the quickest and cleanest way to take said companies offline for a short duration.
that is what is going on right now.
Laptop: M6600 – 2720QM, AMD HD6970M, 32GB 1600CL9 RAM, Arc100 480GB SSD
Isn’t there any other servers to route traffic through that isn’t level3 or alter.net? Both are the weakest link to connectivity, and if it can’t be repaired would it be possible to reroute the connection elsewhere?
