Hello

I was wondering if any Tech expert can help me.

This is my computer in a nutshell:

AMD Phenom X4 955
4GB Ram
GTX 460
Gigabyte UD55H MB
OCZ 126GB SSD

I’m thinking of slowly upgrading it because during events I get really really bad FPS lag, it’s not unplayable but it’s not smooth at all. I’m wondering, what does GW2 benefit more from, is it a strong CPU+RAM or a good GPU? I’m guessing it’s CPU+RAM but wanted to make sure.

What would you recommend? I think my CPU is currently at 3.2ghz, would overclocking it to 3.6ghz make much of a difference?

Thanks

Upgrade the CPU+mobo, then go for 8 gigs of ram. Aim for an i5.

Thanks, I was thinking of doing that, looking at around £400. Better start convincing the girlfriend of this wise investment…

As Fermi said, Save up money for a CPU and motherboard upgrade.
Try get atleast an i5.
An i7 would be a slight advantage in GW2, not so much in other games unless ur running a super high end enthusiast rig which monsterous GPU power like 2 or 3 GTX 780,s Titans, or R9 290X’s, at which point ur CPu will be the only thing holding back the higher FPS limits in games LIke Crysis 3. It would be more ‘future resistant’. (no such thing as ‘future proof’).
