Hey! I’m going to buy a new laptop soon, and i wanted to ask here in this forum how it will run gw2 before i buy it or if i should buy a different laptop. I know there’s plenty of topic like this and i’ve tried looking through many of them but I still havent found out the answer.

Windows 8 64bit
Intel core i7 (3.generation) 3630QM
8G RAM 1600Mhz
750GB
NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M – 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM

Thanks

Okay, I really appreciate the answer! I just dont understand processor or the graphic cards values. Only in Ram does it seem logical, because of the higher it is – the better? But thank you.

Hmm i would say u may have an issue with the graphics settings.

It will play the game but the 635m isnt exactly a gaming GPU.

I would say Medium settings would be what ur looking at if u want to keep fps high.

The CPU is perfectly fine for PvE .. But it will likely strugle in WvW..so just a warning there.

More RAM (aka memory) is generally better, yes.

To make up some sort of physical analogy, think of the RAM as a work table the computer does stuff on. If the table is too small it’ll spend more time rearranging things, lifting them off the table and back on (in this case on and off the hard drive, which is much slower than the RAM) than actually doing work. Having a huge work table doesn’t hurt, but past a certain point it doesn’t help much either.

8 GB is more than enough for most things, so you don’t need to worry about that.

For CPUs and GPUs, comparing them with each other is probably more useful than trying to guess how they perform from the model numbers.

Solar every CPU except stong i5/i7 OC’d on stationary PC will struggle in WvW.
as for this i7 with 3,40ghz turbo mode i’d say it will be fine aka ~30 fps

If u seriously want a good and “cheap” or not expensive laptop for gaming take this one :

It’s new so called " e-machine " which some companies create one few years.
Advantage of those is that they cost relatively cheap as to compare to stuff they have.

This is one of best:
Notebook MSI GE60 0ND-419X
http://www.msi.com/product/nb/GE60-0ND.html

In my store with this config :
Intel Core i7-3630QM (2.40 GHz, turbo 3.40 GHz) ( 4 cores / 8 threads / 6mb cache )
8192 MB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 2048 MB

costs around ~1000/1200$.
for example there are Asus and HP laptops with lower gen i7 and 630M cards on board for ~2000$
