Not sure if this will work for others. I live in the US and I was resetting my client over and over just to watch it drop down to 0KB every time. As soon as I used a proxy located in London UK, I was able to patch right away.

So maybe this might work for others.

How do you set up a proxy in the UK?

Add -assetsrv 93.188.135.37:80 to your gw2 shortcut’s target line with a space between the " at the end of what’s there, and the -. Fixed it for me.

This seems to have worked, getting speeds of 150 kb/s, now. Not great, but at least it’s moving

I’ve been having this issue with practically every patch lately. It’s incredibly infuriating.

Thank you, Aiden Savage, that seems to have helped me considerably. Downloading at a nice clip now, instead of 0-40kb/sec.

I just tried this fix too now and it’s working very well. I’ve gotten more downloaded in the past minute then I had in the past hour before, haha. Thanks very much!

i tried this and i keep getting the “connection arrors detected, retrying” am i doing this wrong?

I think I read somewhere that Guildwars downloads are similar to a bit torrent witch is some of the most efficient ways do download large file over the Internet. Well with all the copyright legal issues on the Internet these days and lawers holding ISPs responsible for copyright infringement, well ISPs are defenetly looking for bit torrent no matter what type. Now it’s not illegal to use a bit torrent it’s just what’s in the bit torrent that makes data illegal. If you have the rights to download the conten like this game then there no problems, but the software that’s the ISPs use to track bit torrent can’t tell if the content is legal or not so it throttle or tries to block it but if you use a proxy then sometime you can full the tracking software and get the game to download.

I’m from Spain, but anyone seems to have the proper solution for this problem to me in spanish forums so I would try here. I’m stuck on 0kb/s download speed no matter the IP I use. I don’t how what else I could do…
