For some reason the gem store says I’ve bought the maximum allowed of the HoT Deluxe gem store upgrade, but I haven’t bought it at all. Initially it said items would be delivered to me next time I logged in, but that note has disappeared now and I’ve not had any of the extra (unpaid for) items. I bought the standard version, am happily rocking my new title, and I’ll get my beta access so I’m not in any hurry but no-one else I’ve spoken to has this problem. (I can’t even see the price, but I’m told it’s 2400 gems?)

Yup, same here. And the funny thing? I wrote to support and got normal response, but that didn’t help me and what followed up was this:

The reason why you are not able to upgrade the game to the Heart Of Thorns deluxe version is because this is a pre-purchase only. You can pre-purchase the Heart Of Thorns expansion using the following link: [link to the store]
And choose the version that works better for you.

What I’m thinking might be the cause, is that it’s showing you the upgrade, but it’s an error in in the store. (This is all speculation).
It’s possible the gem upgrade might not be available until the game is released.

I am pretty sure Gaile said (or maybe it was in the Blog) that players would be offered the opportunity to upgrade their Standard HoT editions in the Gem Store beginning this week.
I think it’s a bug of some kind. Hopefully, someone is/will address the issue.
Edit: Posters in the thread addressing this topic over in the Game Bugs sub-forum report the issue has been addressed, and they are now able to upgrade. Yay!

Yep, seemed to be sorted last night and I am now the proud owner of the deluxe HoT. And a lot fewer gems lol! Thanks to whoever at Anet did their voodoo and fixed it :-)
