My account has been logged in from Chengdu China, and that’s definitely not where I live nor anyone who I trust. So I tried changing my password, and for some reason I can’t set up a new one. It keeps saying “must contain 8 or more characters”…..the new pass had like 24 characters, and I’ve even tried one with 9, 12, 13, 10 etc. None are going through. My current password has 9 characters so I don’t understand why it won’t let me change to a new one so my account isn’t ruined by hackers from somewhere I’ve never even been -.-

Please tell me how I can fix this asap so nothing I’ve worked so hard for is harmed in any way.

Same thing here. Chengdu China tried to log in, but I doubt they would have been able to verify it because my email password is pretty strong and very different from my GW2 login password. Can’t change it though.

I don’t think the “must contain 8 or more characters…” is the reason it’s not going through. For me, it had that warning before I tried to change the password, and when I hit “save changes” it just blanked out the boxes and highlighted the new password box in red as if there were a problem.

Need a fix soon so I don’t lose my character.

For the record, I haven’t made an account with any fansites, certainly haven’t tried to buy any gold from people other than ANet, and have otherwise had no login issues.

EDIT: Also, I can’t deny the request because the support website constantly gives me the “failure occurred” notice when I try. This website needs some serious work

EDIT 2: I got my password to go through. Still can’t deny access to that IP though. Good luck Kadyn

Yeah same here. My email password is entirely different and very unique like my GW2 one is but they’re different.

Eh it never gave me a confirmation and I know my password is correct. It just said “must contain 8 or more characters” with everything I tried to change it to. And the new one was always more than 8. As well I’ve never made an account with anything else about GW2 or stupid gold sites….so I don’t see any reason I can’t change my password.

I do not want to lose everything I’ve worked hard for. I love the game and would hate to be forced banned because of a faulty “change password” on Anet’s end -.-

I also had that same issue when I tried to deny it…..had to do it several times to go through and it just appeared again saying they tried to log into my account again….

My password is unique to something only I would use. It’s my pet, merged with an event, a date, and my name so it’s odd but makes a word that’s unique. I managed to get the new password set in thankfully. Not sure why it was giving that issue so many times. But it’s changed so that’s good.

Also if a hacker learns how their system opporates…..they’ll eventually find a way around it. They usually do. Let’s just hope it’s not for many years though heh. Good luck to any others having issues similar to this.
