Today I was informed I HAVE to change my password. I’m ok with it. That makes sense to me. What DOESN’T make sense is that it keeps rejecting my password that I want to change to with the error message “Password must be at least 8 characters long”.

Why is that a problem? Cause the new password is 14 characters long… I tried 8-16 character long passwords. All failed with the same message.

So now I can’t play Guild Wars 2…

Any idea how to fix this?

Exactly the same issue here. Can’t change my old password to a new one. When I press “Save details” button nothing happens.

Same here. Im fairly sure my password was unique since it was more then twice the lenght, with numbers and in my native language (no special characters).

Edit: tryed a few more times and it worked. Totaly silly imo, since i also have otp attached, you should be a little less strict.

We believe that folks are seeing the warning about 8 letters and thinking that it is an error message. The error message will appear above, and it’s much longer, I am told.

We definitely want to help you (and remove the confusion that our messaging may cause). Please contact Support and the team will help you. You can read through the Knowledge Base on that link, and you can submit a ticket via the “Ask a Question” tab on that page.
